i'm having trouble putting this into words in a concise manner, i feel like i keep ending up writing essays. 😵‍💫

but i'm so upset, i keep seeing this labru (kabulai i guess) artist on twitter who partakes in like, ALL of the things wrong, and routinely gets tens of thousands of likes. perhaps this is first world problems, but when a character you relate to deeply and find comfort in is portrayed in a way that is so far from what you see and understand, it can feel like a personal twisting of your own self.

his design is kinda inconsistent, sometimes he looks like a dude sometimes he is quite slender and "prettier". but maybe that's the appeal of androgyny.

i tend to depict him in his more androgynous state often just because i enjoy seeing that in male characters and think it's rather rare, but the multiple different ways he's drawn probably plays a part in how there are so many different interpretations of him from artists

i don't think kabru needs someone to take care of him, but god it would do him well for someone to WANT to.

that's why i love his epilogue future so much, because he goes from living alone in the basement of a bar, barely sleeping or eating, keeping himself closed off and dedicating every bit of himself to the dungeon. to go from that to living in the castle with laios and friends who actively care and worry about his health and wellbeing.

and he's probably so resistant to it, because he's made it this far in his own head and it would require him to admit that he WANTS it. same with physical touch. he might bemoan a hug from laios because it connects via each others vulnerability, but i know it feels good in his body.

what people don't seem to understand is laios, laios is a handsome guy.

but kabru is BEAUTIFUL.

two very different forms of attractiveness. and it feels a disservice to his character to not accurately portray his beauty in fanart and such. if my tablet wasn't broken i would draw a full diagram
