I missed Lee Mei a lot, since she was my first muse on Tumblr! But I’m not sure where to start because it’s been ages since I last wrote her story - who she is as a person aside from her identity.

Joaquim is having to tilt his head up to be able to look at her when not so long ago it seemed she was the one needing to crane her head to gaze upon him. How time changes people, and the thought alone nearly brings a happy tear to his eye were it not for her voice catching his attention. “Papai always tries to nap during the day. And no. I wasn’t going to throw the lamp out the door, I was only going to throw it at the door.”
He steps to the side and happily allows her entrance into his home, shuts the door and- still holding onto the lamp as if it’s some sort of safety device listens to her drone on and on about whatever. If she inherited one thing from the Portuguese man it was the extended length of one sided conversation! He was so immersed in what she was saying he hadn’t even bothered to tie his hair back or put a shirt on until she pointed it out to him!
He gasps, overly enthusiastic as he sets the lamp down and shuffles his way around her to reach his shirt. “You made pasteis de nata?” He slips the garment over his head. “For me? Lee Meinha! You make your old man so proud. I think I might cry.” And he does. Only a little. It’s a single tear. A manly tear! “C'mere and give papai kisses! It’s been too long!” He pulling her into a hug anyway and peppering her face with chaste little kisses.
Lee Mei makes a small squeak, beginning to laugh at the pecks across her face. Ah - it was good to see him. She gingerly returns his hug but refrains from any kisses except one brief kiss on the cheek unlike the stocky man. Only when he releases her does she speak again, attempting to adjust her disheveled hair.
“Hehe, I’m a bit too old for that, papai. ... Actually - I’m probably way too old for it.”
Handing over the bag she brought with her, inside was a decorative pastry box with a red ribbon wrapped around it. Lee Mei worried a bit too much about minute details like that to bother acknowledging that it was just another barrier for Joaquim. But what she did recall, was that those egg tarts were one of his favorite treats. All the more so whenever she, herself made them.
“How have you been? Eating healthily, getting ample exercise...”

Joaquim knew his beloved Lee Mei was visiting today, yet he figured he might be able to squeeze in a siesta until she arrived. Which, in hindsight, wasn’t a good idea as the Portuguese male is known to be quite the sound sleeper. Sleeping through thunder storms and being shoved out of bed in the middle of the night.
So when the time arrived for Lee Mei to show up guess where he was? Fast asleep on the couch, shirtless, snuggling against a bunny plushie. The knocks at his door were nothing more than a faint thrumming in the distance, and the voices he heard were probably just the neighbours kids trampling around like a herd of elephants again.
But when the knocking and the voices persisted he angrily sits up, readies to throw a lamp at the door– but in the process notices what time it is and throws himself off the couch and lunges towards the door, lamp still in hand. “Meu Deus, Lee Meinha! How long did I have you waiting this time? Papai is so sorry!
The Macanese frowns stubbornly and glances him over, craning her neck slightly. The blasted heels she wore gave her a five inch edge on the man and it was one of many things she found embarrassing. His state of undress, armed with a lamp causes her to tilt her head to the side as she quirks an eyebrow up, speaking sharply.
“Papai, were you sleeping again? ... And you were going to throw a lamp out the door?”
Her pout seems to disappear as she prompts her inquisition before being replaced with a bright and cheery grin. After being let inside, she quickly removes her heels to let herself down to her normal height before utilizing her chattering gatling gun, blasting through multiple topics at once. She eventually pauses to give him another look over, her eyebrows coming together with the slightest rushes of embarrassment growing to her features.
“But it’s okay; you need some rest -- oh! I made some pasteis de nata before I came... I don’t know how they fair, though. ... Oh and papai, please put on a shirt.”
“Papa! I’m here! Open the door, please!”
The woman knocks on the door, rather loudly at that. She groans, the strain of an airplane ride; on top of stumbling through the streets of the place she once called home, Lee Mei grew impatient with the few moments of relative peace that she had. Perhaps she should’ve called prior? But -- he knew she was arriving.
She rolls her eyes, begrudgingly accepting the position she was in: sweaty, her hair was a mess, and the present she brought all the way back from her city was probably beginning to harden into a softball-sized sweet.

“Hm... well... There’s you, then my brother... Then...” [ Counting off her fingers, though really she’s just pulling it out of her ass since she considers him a baby due to the disparity between their ages. ]

The woman pinches the bridge of her nose with her free hand and rests the other, that still clutched the bottle against her hip. Against her better judgement, she’d rather have him under her supervision while drunk rather than being alone and absolutely inebriated.
“I’ll only give you more alcohol after you eat. Do we have a deal?”
