Art Dump!!! So earlier today I tried my second attempt this year at pumpkin sculpting. After several tries over the years this is my best one yet. Might have to try another one before Halloween, but I need to find a bigger pumpkin. As for inktober, I'm still going strong but I think choosing Zombies AND following the official prompt list is starting to get the best of me. I love doing them though, I really wish I had found about inktober years ago. Back to zombies for Day 12. Todays prompt is worried. In the zombie apocalypse being bit is what you always worry about. 

This was a great chance to do a hand study too. Hands can be the weirdest thing to draw.

Today’s Inktober prompt was Transport....but I decided to skip the prompt and zombies for today BECAUSE GODZILLA!!! Shin Godzilla was released today and I saw it with my pops and my sis. It’s really something special seeing Godzilla on the big screen. LOVED IT!

So today’s prompt was rock. I decided to do a zombie that played rock, and I chose none other than my favorite frontman Chino Moreno from my all time favorite band Deftones! I feel like I might’ve stretched it with this one, but I like it and it was fun, so whatever.

Day 7: Lost... He LOST his family, LOST his life, LOST his eyes, and now he's just LOST.

Day 6: Hidden. My shading brush pen (which is really just a spent Tombow brush pen) started giving up on this. AND I finished my first cartridge in my Pentel Pocket Brush! It's only day 6! This is one of the few times my initial idea sketch gets taken from start to finish. Usually I have a stack of failed attempts...you should've seen day 4's stack O_O. I'm really enjoying Inktober and experimenting with different techniques, it makes each drawing feel fresh.

Sad was the prompt for day 5. Perhaps one of the most tragic thing about zombies is when a loved one becomes one. Could you do it? Could you kill your loved one even though they’re “dead” and trying to eat you?

The prompt for day 4 is Hungry... 

Had one of those bad drawing days....you know when the image in your head can’t really connect to your hand? Actually, I just feel like my brain isn’t connecting with anything today. Well despite the struggle, I pushed myself to try a different style....so at least there’s that...

Prompt for day 2 of Inktober is noisy. I tried thinking of noises that really irritate me, and my original idea was a leaf blower wielding zombie. Then I thought of something more sinister....a zombie eating styrofoam!

This was an online still life painting hosted by Melissa Dow and Sarah Mills of Oatley Academy. It was a fantastic way to connect with other artists and work on observational skills. Can’t wait for the next one!
