                                  hawks  was  popular  with  the  community  ,     and  enji  wasn’t  blind  to  that  fact.    no  ,     it  was  a  trait  he  actually  respected  and  one  he  wished  to  study  to  better  himself.    he  had  a  long  way  to  go  in  both  his  career  and  as  a  father.    some  things  he  couldn’t  take  back  ,     he  had  to  show  his  commitment  to  change  more  then  ever  if  he  ever  hoped  to  become  someone  they  could  be  proud  of   …   and  in  order  to  keep  that  hope  alive  in  the  hearts  of  the  people.     ❝     fine   …   then  ,     what  would  YOU  suggest  hawks  ?     ❞

hawks shakes his head -  clicking his tongue ; a show of disappointment  ...  how naïve !  it was a popularity show.  that’s for sure ... the public opinion on you , man , that was almost as dangerous as any villain. plus ,  the more popular you were. the more the public trusted you , well - a guy could just get away with a lot more. hawks knew this - the hero commission too ...  yeah.  that knowledge sure had a hand in the way he was , there was no denying that.  oh !  the hero nearly coo’s at that last part - breaking out in his trademark grin.  darker thoughts pushed away . he didn’t always expect endeavour to acknowledge his musings. he wasn’t gonna waste a moment of his time - alright , maybe he was.    

 “ oh yeah ! now you’re cookin’ with fire , big guy -  “  hawks begins , in his animated way - speaking just as much with his hands and his does his words.  “ so i was thinking -  sushi good ? “  not waiting for an answer he slips through the restaurant door.  wings pulled in to fit through the tight space.  “  photoshoot , shirtless of course .. don’t sweat it , they’ll all be looking at me - .”

‘ promotional  merch  ?!  ’     brows  immediately  furrow.    ‘   absolutely  not !   don’t  go  throwing  ideas  around  without  my  approval  first.   ’     his  rage  is  simmered,   all  things  considered,   words  spoken  under  a  deep  grunt.   ridiculous.   the  idea  of  merchandise  was  furthest  from  his  mind   ―   hawks  had   too  much   time  on  his  hands.   enji  almost  scoffs  at  the  idea,   lips  pulling  into  a  seated  frown.

“oh , come on - “ the blonde drawls - finally setting his feet on the ground to walk alongside the hero. because , you know. flying everywhere could tire a guy out.  he’d spent long enough flyin’ around looking for endeavour ... he was waaaay harder to spot when he wasn’t on fire.  “ i haven’t seen any new stuff in months ; they just keep re-using the same old photos ... man , even your most loyal fans are gonna get bored of that - “  ... yeahhh ..  not true - they’d still buy each and every mag the guy faced. but there was more to being a hero than just ... well , hero work.  the public needed someone to rely on right now , it’d be good if they saw more of him ..

“yo ! enji , i just spoke to my promotional manager - and she’s totally sold on the idea of duel merch. whatdaya think , big guy ?  “  a collab between the top two heros ? oh , they’d just eat it up.  he’d give it  ten minutes after the announcement , before they were trending on twitter ... hey , maybe even eight.   yeah sure , maybe , it was a personal dream of his ... but this guy needed all the good press he could get . hawks was just helping a guy out - out of the goodness of his heart ..

pathetic gamers ... he’d been looking for reliable villains to join his Minecraft server ! the server that master had began ... left him to rule. but ... they were a bunch of untameable rookies .  unable to follow simply instructions ...   “ why don’t you just listen to me -.” shigaraki scoured from behind the screen - voice certainty further distorted over what would be less than game ready headphones.

‘   yoohoo !!    hey,    hey,    radio host !!    ’     my  oh  my  !    a  person  just  as  loud  &  excessive  as  she  was    ―    it  was  sure  to  leave  a  lasting  impression.    eraser  head  almost  never  let  her  chat  to  his  fellow  teachers  for  long  unless  it  was  for  hero  studies  or  work  related,    so  this  was  a  treat.     ‘    pfftt !!    you  have  a  sign  on  your  back  saying  ‘kick  me’,   best  be  careful !    ’     he  didn’t,    of  course,    but  that  was  part  of  the  fun.

“ that’s mr radio host , sir , when we’re on school grounds - my boisterous listener ! . “    not that he’d ever enforce that rule ! no !  it made him feel old ...  (which he wasn’t .. he’d be cool until death ! oooh yeaaahh ! ) “ what ? where ? no way - “  the radio host fell for the trick - arms twisted in an effort to remove the note  ...  he never fell asleep in class ! when would they ever  get the chance to pull one over on their teacher ...  the teamwork that it’d take might be admirable , but still - was he getting so rusty that a group of teens could prank him so easily?  fingers fall short - oh , no , no , now he got it !  he’d always been told it was best for him to avoid miss joke ... for , obvious reasons. 

“OH ! that was a cheap trick - but the classics never fail to get the audience going ! isn’t that right.  lucky ! if i got hit with a surprise attack , it might not have ended in such applause ! . “  the last time he’d been surprised ... the staff room had needed new windows.
