i talked about this in the tags of my last post, but tumblr jumbled up the order and i thought it’d be better to express it in a more clear manner

i’m not, by the way, in the party that thinks that jinki did nothing wrong and can do no wrong

when news broke last september(?) i remember being absolutely appalled and shocked and wanting to believe in him, but also preparing myself for the possibility that he had truly done such horrible things with malevolent intent. i remember saying back then, that if he really is guilty, then he deserved to be punished for it.

i don’t think it’s ever wise to have complete and utter blind faith in someone. i don’t think it’s smart to never have doubt. i don’t agree when strangers are like “but he would never do such a thing”, “he did nothing wrong”. i waited for further news to break, and then i made my decision to continue to support him.

as a fan, i love, support, and respect him, but i also know that it’s not as though i know him personally on a one-to-one basis. however, i do believe that the attitude he’s expressed towards the public all of these years is still a major part of his personality. i don’t think that lee jinki is some sort of supernatural being that can commit no sins and make no mistakes and have no flaws. we all get angry, we all make mistakes.

but i do think that he has an astoundingly gentle personality and patient approach to life, and i respect that so much. it’s despite manufactured characters and the reality of a performance for the public that i think this, and i’d like to think that this is what i’m trying to capture when i draw him, and maybe this is why my drawings keep coming off as “soft”?

I just wanted to drop by and say I really love how you draw Jinki <3 He's very soft and cute, and it captures his gentleness idk how to explain it tbh

thank you very much wheezesi feel like most of the non-request comments i get in my ask box talk about how ‘soft’ my portrayals are so i’ve been staring at my art like… is it???But I think what every artist does is that they try and capture the “essence” of something when they’re drawing. I do think that Onew (and Jinki) are astoundingly gentle people with patient personalities, regardless of “images” and manufactured characters. So I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you, and I’ll keep trying to express my thoughts and feelings through my art and doodles too.
