Gettin there..
onto the granite table now..

🙂
I glued together the boards and layered on a few thin coats of gesso this weekend, Almost finished with transferring my sketch to the wooden boards.
So I’m thinking about glueing together these 4 wooden panels in an uneven type of way. I’d like to paint my kitchen since it is basically the meeting grounds of my family haha.
I want to configure the panels to intersect just how maybe one of the sections of a cabinet or window does or something along those lines.
I’m going to be workin on a sketch soon
Right now I’m living in the house I grew up in, with my parents and brother. It is a townhouse in montville nj. It was built about 30-40 years ago. All of the houses basically look the same. Everything is nice...and...perfect.
It reflects the value of the era. Early 2000s Tucson fashion, warm reds, green and browns.
I have tons of air looms around my house from both sides of my family. We are very nostalgic.
My family is Jewish. My family is very warm, friendly, and loving.
Each room has kind of the same mood with almost the same style of colors and decorum. My office/den room has some memories. My house has been re done a bit on the inside. But we are not allowed to make changes to the outside.
What I really want to expand upon is about how perfect, safe, and cookie cutter my townhouse complex is.
I live right off of a Main Street and my development has a street that goes in a perfect circle with houses on both sides. Some are apartments with no garage or driveway, and some do have, like the one I live in.
There are 2 small parks for kids to play on with one pond and a fountain in it. Around the back is covered by woods and if you go back far enough you’ll find highway 287 north.
I been really starting to feel like I’m in a fishbowl here. I ride my bike and skateboard around the safe street round and round my whole life, and now I’m back doin the same thing. For some reason the feeling of pure safety and seeing the same nice neighbors every day creeps me out a bit and puts me into this twilight zone type of trance where the days are flying by and each one feels the same.
I recently found a really cool trail in the back of the woods that I’ve been taking walks on and exploring nature which I am very excited about.
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!! I need more plexi glass!!
YEEEEHAWWW
Might collage some stuff into here including the masking tape on the bottom.
Acrylic, gesso, newspaper, varnish
—-UPDATE
I’m thinkin. CHUNKY!!!
This is something I started working on at my parents house, after I got back home from moving out of my apartment.I was working on a flyer for the Career development center which had a ven diagram on it.
So I took my 2 favoirite color combos and just had fun making some spheres colliding. I wanted to paint something else in the background and I thought of the texture project, so I’m trying to represent the latticework from my backyard fence: using bright green and yellow oil paints (rest is acrylic).
There’s also kind of supposed to be an eyeball on the top left handside. I put a glob of paint down and blew air on it really hard to spread it out hahaha.
But reall all I was trying to do (and I guess still am) was relax and get my mind back into reality from this crazy pandemic that’s going on.
I will be painting the rough texture of a seashell I found at the beach over in Asbury Park last week. I want to off set the composition on the top right of the 12x12 canvas I have. Maybe put a light blue oceany background under it!!???hmhmhmh?!?!? This should be fun :))
This is the most update snapshot of my orthographic painting, composed fromthe 7 different 20 minute studdies we did in class of the table object set up!!
I plan to go in on some more detail with some oil paints to really clarify the perspectives..
