introduction.

hello! this is a genshin + hsr ebg, since that's usually what goes on here in my blog. i thought i could organize a game to help spice up the dash a little bit? i'm using the past ebgs on genshinblr as reference for this, with a few of my own tweaks. i've always had fun in the ones i've played, so i hope this will turn out well too.

this game is open not just for writers, but for all the artists and other creators out there as well, so please feel free to join if this is something you're interested in :)

extreme bias game, or ebg for short, is a game where for the period of this event, your original bias is not supposed to exist to you. (which means, no interacting or acknowledging your original bias.) instead, you'll be assigned a bias, and for the duration of the game, they're your favorite character ever. mention your original bias, and you get a strike.

whoever's still standing after the game ends wins.

the game will run from friday, 24th july 2 p.m. UTC to friday, 31st july, 2 p.m. UTC, exactly for one week. even though this is a long post, in the interest of clear communication, please read this post before signing up!

fandoms + bias assigning.

okay so. i'm aware that mixing two fandoms might get a bit complicated, but please bear with me while i explain. for those who don't know, a bias here would be your favorite character.

the sign up form below would have three options: genshin, hsr, or both. if you pick just genshin or just hsr, you can simply mention one bias, and the game will proceed like normal.

think of the both option as a bit of a 'hard mode' where: you can't interact with either of your original biases from both star rail and genshin. every other thing remains the same and you'd only get one assigned bias (could be from either game).

simply put, it would just mean that other players can sabotage you with both of your faves.

all the biases will be assigned by a wheel randomly from a list.

rules and notes.

once the ebg starts, i'll release a list of the players, the original biases and the assigned biases. this can be reblogged at the start of the game without incurring a strike.

no interacting with / mentioning / acknowledging your original bias. every instance of this will earn you a strike. three strikes and you're out. (eg. if my bias is kaeya, and during the course of this game i like / reblog / mention him, i get a strike.)

sabotage: a sabotage is an ask / creation for the original bias of your fellow player that you can send to them to help them lose >:) you're encouraged to do so, in fact. fall for a sabotage, and you get a strike. i've seen people get really creative with this both in sending and answering, so go nuts.

strikes can be earned, as mentioned above, but they can also be gifted using points. (1000 points to gift a strike, allowed once a day. you'd have to send an ask to my inbox for this.)

each player can be sent a maximum of two strikes a day, and a total of four strikes throughout the game. this is so no one gangs up on one player, which is something i've seen happen in past games.

you can earn points by creating something ( writing / art / edits etc) for your assigned bias. each creation would be awarded a standard 500 points. lineart is the minimum for art, and a minimum of 300 words for a writing piece for it to count. more details on this in a later post.

selfship / platonic / oc content is okay.

you can also heal yourself using your points (1500 points per heal.) i'll go into more detail about points and what they can do before the ebg officially starts.

please tag me ( @soltuneia ) so that i can see your creation. points don't count if you don't because i likely won't be able to see it without the tag.

i'll keep track of these points and strikes in a post, which i'll edit at regular intervals so everyone would be able to know what they have.

whoever loses, i.e. gets struck out after three strikes, or forfeits the game in between, gets a penalty at the end. (usually something silly like reply to all asks with a meme for a week. will be decided at the end.)

no need to change urls if your username includes your bias, but please do change your theme for the duration of the game. having your original bias in your theme would also count as a strike after the first 24 hours of the ebg.

the rules may bend a little on the last day or two just to keep things interesting, but that will be announced beforehand.

i know i'm hosting, but i wanted to join in on the fun as well. so while my writing blog is the one hosting the ebg, i'll participate in it over on my main blog: @glacialheart

so, to keep things fair since i'm the host, i won't assign my original bias to anyone so i can interact with the participants. and in addition, i won't put myself in the points strike system to keep it fair. which means i can't strike anyone out. you can strike me, and i'll only be able to heal myself with my points, nothing else. i'll keep everything in a public post as well so it's all fair.

please be patient with me, i'm also figuring this out as i go since this is the first time i've done something like this. so i might end up inevitably messing up but i'll try my best!!

i’m more of a casual listener of some kpop music than an actual fan, but i was still wondering if you have any favorite groups you wanted to mention since i’m always open to listening to something new :D i did know (and forgot to include) that some of round 1 is about the kpop industry specifically, functioning as a pretty direct portrayal of it at times instead of a possible metaphor like Alien Stage itself, but it’d also be great to hear your thoughts about how Round 1 made a statement on that based on your knowledge of the whole environment there/nf 💜💜

I love many groups NJZ is my ult but I don’t suggest watching to listening to them on their actual account and would suggest to pirate them because of the fact that their company (A BIG ONE) was not just abusive to them, but also to other groups. I am mainly a gg Stan but I have learned that the company in charge of NJZ has abused other groups like TXT (tomorrow x together) with some of the members speaking about how during their training days how they would get abused by staff members. So the round one music video did not change my opinion on the industry very much because I’ve known about the abuse for a while, but I really did remind me about how bad it could get. I may buy some of the albums, but I do listen to most of the music on CDs so that way I don’t have to stream them online and support the abuse that most of these companies put their idols through. (It’s a pay once and not constantly watch and listen online)

JYP groups are more or less my favorite because of the fact that the company does not abuse their idols very much, i’m sure they abuse idols at least a little bit because that’s what most companies do sadly. but it isn’t as bad as other companies like SM and HYBE. truly JYP makes actual good groups, but they are really bad at promoting their groups, of course. So other groups like KATSEYE (in my opinion don’t make very good music in the recent years) get more popularity because of how promoted they are. A group a truly think is underrated is NMIXX because they make great music, and are all vocal powerhouses. (The weakest member vocal being able to hold a whistle note)

oh. ok. those are clematis flowers and Mizi just hands them off like they’re nothing. after entering she industry she literally has no light in her eyes off-camera and Sua feels pushed aside…i do love how she looks in wavy/curly hair though

respect to Sua here tbh i’m sure Mizi never smoked before becoming an idol and this is her first time doing it in front of Sua, judging from just how scared she looks as she takes it away :( i imagine it reminds her at least a little of the general relationship between entertainment stars and addiction

So i don’t have the screenshot for it on hand but…this cutting directly i think to MIZI as a child being hugged by her mother after she hit her (implied by the mark on her face)? ohhh mizi you and your learned behaviors

I would actually kill to know what she said here. but i do imagine that towards the end the realization hits that she’s treating Sua like how her mother treated her, even just in that one slap

the fact that Mizi’s audience still has the same demographics. even in death she’s subjected to and made to perform for the male gaze in so many ways (the entire water shot is suggestive, yes, but i think what really cements the heteronormative-ness of it all is the fact that the only shot we ever see of her as a celebrity with someone else, on camera, is her in revealing clothing getting very physically close to a man with his eyes cut out of the frame—almost like he isn’t anyone to Mizi besides the body she has to exist in proximity to in order to be seen, to be recognized as the sex symbol her management has made her out to be)

Hyuna has her attention swept away by Mizi and Sua’s performance just like the other spectators, but the entire time we have her POV everything lacks color, and the audio of the music is easily drowned out by the noise of the crowd. this can very directly be interpreted as a way to show how in the back of her mind, she can’t forget how disgusting and dehumanizing it all is

the entire heart pattern going on with these infected areas makes me wonder if it’s artificial or not, because either way it’s such a nice aesthetic choice…

RIP Kate and Minho :( it’s so…it’s a finishing touch to the horror of all this to add on top that (presumably) contestants that lose either have a body part removed or are cut up and sold entirely, packaged and labeled as a “perfect gift”. it’s especially sad for Mizi, seeing as how much she had already been commodified as an idol. taking away and selling the part of her body responsible for her vision is making her practically helpless to resist her current condition (she can barely keep her balance on stage in a few frames while dancing closer to the edge). she can’t see anyone or anything around her at all, but the audience doesn’t care, because the implication is that they don’t care about her as a person, they care about her as a body to watch and drool over and come to own.

Everything about caught my interest as well and they do HEAVILY suggest about how mizi was sexually exploited by the industry bc as we all know it is meant as a statement to the kpop industry (sry if u didn’t know that 😓) AND it really does show how the kpop industry WILL sell their idol’s bodies for money as at the end of round one it shows “FOR AUDTION” when they suggest they cut off Sua’s arm. And how they sold mizi’s eyes or preserved them, and talking about mizi with the men: she started to smoking because of the pressure getting to her (kpop idols resorting to bad habits) and sua seeing the person she loves acting while someone she does t recognize HURTS me bc I would take that cigarette away too. And the fact sua infected herself just to be with mizi also hurts me. And how sua always reaches for mizi and yet the industry changed her so much she didn’t recognize sua and grab back also hurts. 

And about the men thing it is fan service, in any entertainment business they will always create fan service for more money, while mizi’s revealing clothes? It’s meant to satisfy the audience, and the world as it seems? I believe they have the infected in a different, restricted area because it would make sense for that to happen because if sua’s clothes: (she looked as if she was trying to not be caught) 

I am also very excited about the next video 😌 it was very interesting to analyze as a K-pop fan and understand the importance and relevance it has to the industry because idols are still being exploited sexually and emotionally (loona is a very extremely good example of how exploitation is in kpop companies.)

La Llorona is one of my favorite childhood stories, so I’ll be telling you all the versions I grew up on. TW: drowning.

La Llorona was the most beautiful woman in her village, every man wanted her but there was one who caught her interest the most. A traveling business man. She agrees to court him and she falls head over heels in love with him. They move into a house down by a lake and get married.

They eventually have 2 kids, he’s always traveling while she’s home with his kids. Every time he came back from his work trip he would always spend his time with his two sons. La Llorona wouldn’t have minded it if it wasn’t for the fact he would never pay a second of attention to her when he came home.

One day after one of his work trips he spends the entire day with his kids, and by the night when everyone has gone to bed she is in a jealous rage. She drags her screaming and crying children down to the lake and drowns them. Once she snaps out of it she realizes what she has done. She starts to sob and then drowns herself because the thought of her husband finding out and leaving her is worse than what she had just done.

There are other versions where her husband cheats on her and she murders her children, or where her husband is leaving her and she commits the crime. But this version is the one I grew up on and I love. But it’s said if you go into a large body of water in Mexico you’ll hear her cries.
