Enjoying it a bit too much

Ever since the incident he hasn't been able to be apart from you, either because of worry or guilt. Wise simply hasn't been able to get too far away from you before feeling his legs unable to move and his chest ache. He has always been there for you, always at your side every time you adventure into the hollow and now that he was able to personally company he thought that he would be of more help, but perhaps it was that confidence he had in himself, that hint of possessiveness that made him be too close, that made him walk too close and distracted by the simple fact that now he could be even closer to you, everything happened so fast, ethereals came out of nowhere and you immediately jumped in to protect him, you ended up injured because of him, even when trying to run away from the hollow you were still thinking on his safety first when he was the one supposed to protect you, it is his fault that you ended up injured, it is his fault that you ended up losing your hearing, and even if it is just a temporary state it is enough to make him feel be drowned in the guilt
That is why he vowed to himself that he will help you with everything, he has been at your side at every moment, guiding you and helping you get used to your used to your temporary state, even making sure to talk for you and patiently explaining everything you, and despite his guilt Wise still finds himself savouring every single moment he gets with you, he tries really hard to hide it and even deny it but deep down he is a bit too happy that you are relying on him, that despite being the one in fault you still trust him enough to accept his help, to also cling at his side while you need it, the amount of times Fairy have caught him simply staring or planning to do more than what he needs to do it is the constant reminder that he is going too far and yet he is enjoying too much this to stop now, he is enjoying it so much that he doesn't know what it will be of him when you don't need him as much as you do now
This may be a story to laugh about in some years, you two will be able to look back and laugh at the fact that you ended up losing your voice after fighting some enemies, even if it did hurt, even when both were scared and desperate when looking back it would be so silly, so small, you two will be able to remember it as something funny, even when right now is torturing him. It may not have been his fault and yet he is suffering the most from it, he knows you will be like this just for a while and yet not being able to hear your voice is driving him crazy, Caelus has grown to depend too much on you, on your relationship, on the way you two are always having fun and joking around, he has grown so used to the sound of his name in your voice, of your laugh and now that you have to avoid it so you won't hurt yourself any further he feels like something is missing, something way too important
It is pretty obvious how affected Caelus truly is and yet the intensity of that it is ignored, he lingers close but always hesitate in getting close, he looks away ashamed but his eyes always finds its way back to you because he doesn't want to lose you, he looks like a sad puppy when in reality it is driving him crazy, fearing and somehow convincing himself that you will never talk to him again, that you are so mad at him for not being able to protect you that you will never talk to him, that you will leave. He has nothing aside from the Astral Express, from you, and if he lose you he will be completely lost in this infinite universe, lost forever, and with each passing day without hearing your voice he feels worse and more scared
He knows this is his fault, he knows it would be better to leave you alone until you recover, he knows too well that and yet Aether can't bring himself to leave your side, he swears to you that he will be at your side and help you with everything until you recover because he is terrified of the possibility of something happening to you, you have already lost your sight because of him, even if it is a temporary condition that doesn't mean he is less paranoid
Being around you, feeling too guilty to get close but still hold your hand gently or tapping your shoulder to guide you safely wherever you want to go, relaying more on Paimon for her to explain what it is happening, for her to be your eyes while he keeps a watchful eye around, and yet part of him is screaming for more. His desire to bask in this opportunity and his guilt are constantly fighting inside of him, loving a bit too much the fact that you are depending completely on him right now despite everything, that you await for his help and only trust his and Paimon’s voice to travel while you can't rely in your eyes, Aether is fighting his own obsessive love too hard because this is his fault, he shouldn't even *think* on enjoying this time at your side
But he is easily triggered, it is when he is reminded that this state is only temporal that he can't handle it, his obsessive love and paranoia are way stronger than him, it makes him step closer, it makes him hold you close, not letting anyone else get close, it even pushed him to talk to you directly, choosing to be the voice guiding you through the world rather than just standing behind to protect you, he knows it is more likely that you won't need him like this in no time and that terrifies him too, it makes him nervous but also angry, he wants to stay at your, like this, to be the only one you rely on even if he has already failed you once, he will desperately bask in the time he still has with you, he will prove that he will not fail you again so you will depend on him willingly even when your eyes are fully recovered
