Kylie looked at the man in disgust as he spit on the floor. She was relief to see that the guy decided to leave instead of fighting back. She still couldn’t believe that some people thought it was okay to act this way towards another person. As soon as she got pulled into the hug, Kylie held her tightly. “Hey” she said, not letting go of her. I’ve missed you so much.” She whispered.

Any and all concerns were insignificant now that she was hugging Kylie. She was familiar, comfort and home all rolled into one. Odette really took her pack bond for granted, soaking up just how much comfort her friend oozed with her presence alone. “I’ve missed you too Ky.” She mumbled, breathing in her scent for a long moment before her arms loosened a little but didn’t let go. “I had something to take care of off the island. But I’m back now.”

Lucy was in heaven, She loved the attention she was receiving and even barked happily at the other. “I adopted her recently and by the abuse she suffered, I’m surprised she still loves humans…. her mother was owned by a breeder who didn’t care about her and eventually they were taken away from the breeder…” She said as she scratched Lucy’s head. There was a look of sad compassion on Odette’s face as she learned of Lucy’s backstory, giving the tip of her nose a small kiss. “You are a lil sweetheart Lucy. I’m glad you have a new momma now.” She cooed softly before standing up and dusting herself off a little, threading her hand through her hair for a moment before laughing softly at the way the blush was clear as day on the woman’s pale complexion. “Thanks. And again, thanks for having my back back there. I really don’t want to have to go back to wearing a collar again.” She shivered a little. “Let me make it up to you. Wanna grab a bite to eat in town?”

“Best news I’ve heard all day.” He enjoyed her enthusiasm, it was refreshing, especially after being around the cold energy that the basement of the school had to offer. “Lead the way.” He prompted, holding his arm out slightly more than it had been to make the ease of access better for her arm to push through his own. It was the most physical touching he had in a while, at least touching that he had allowed happen and not been overthrown to be part of. Her question jarred him out of his thoughts and he took a moment to rethink and comprehend what she had just asked. “Learn.” He nodded, yes he was there to try and learn a lot of things. “Can never learn too many things.” The ghost of a smile teased his lips. “What about you? What brings you here…And why the choice to stay?”

Maybe it was the full moon or maybe she was just beginning to feel like her old self by way that she had nearly wrapped herself around his arm as they walked. “You are not wrong there. Anyone who thinks they’re done learning hasn’t done much of it.” She mused before his question drew attention to herself. “Oh some of the greatest scientific advances were made here for the supernatural community. And I am proud to say I can contribute to that reputation. I created an antigen for silver poisoning among my kind, so in saying that, kinda what keeps me here. I’ve made a lab here that mass produces the antigen as well as use it to work on other projects that benefit the supernatural community, not just my own kind.”

If the woman noticed something off about him during their conversation, she didn’t mention it, and for that he was grateful. When she spoke again her words had him cocking his head to the side like an interested puppy to a new world. “That’d be great, thanks.” He meant it and smiled sincerely as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper that was supposed to have his room assignment. “I actually don’t see the number on it. That seemed to be my issue.” He shrugged, letting out a breath that may have been frustration for someone else but in truth he was used to this kind of thing happening to him. “I’ll just deal with it later, head over to administration tomorrow or something.” Another shrug, he wasn’t going to bother with it, not when there was so many other things he could be up to. “But it’d be awesome if you could show me to the closest place to get the strongest drink.” A light chuckle left his mouth “If you wouldn’t mind, of course.”

Odette grinned at hearing how he wanted a strong drink. “You are in luck my friend. Aside from running the best lab on this slab of rock, I happen to work at the best place for a strong drink. C’mon, handsome. Suite be damned.” She took a step towards him, lacing her arm through his and beginning to lead him in the direction of the town. “So tell me Omen, what brings you to the island? You hear to teach or to learn?” In truth maybe she could have done without the physical touching or being so cheery, but any excuse to drink tequila during the day was a good enough reason to bring a spring to her step any day.

Kylie was sitting down, scrolling on social medias when she heard a familiar voice coming from afar. She couldn’t quite understand what they were saying but she could tell by the tone of their voice that it wasn’t a nice conversation. The blonde put her phone into her bag and decided to go and see if anyone needed some assistance. Kylie’s eyebrows furrowed and a growl slipped out her mouth as when she saw the man. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” She asked as she approached the two. Kylie pushed the guy away, “She told you to get off, so get off.”

There was a unique level of grateful resonating in Odette at seeing Kylie. Getting her footing as the guy was pushed away, she instinctually went to stand next to her pack member, a lower growl rumbling deep in her chest. “It’s over. I’m not saying it again and next time I won’t hesitate to kill you, consequences be damned. Now leave.” She threatened, bristling and tense to fight. But the male, seeing he was outnumber, simply spit at her feet before angrily walking away. Once she knew he was not coming back, she relaxed and took a deep breath, not hesitating to grab Kylie by the hand and pull her in for a hug. “Hey you.” She muttered softly.

Do you get jealous easily?

“Yes and no. If I like you and the feeling is mutual but we never establish anything or talk about shit, then yeah, I get jealous cause I want your time and your attention. But if I’m just vibing and I can tell you’re trying to make me jealous or get me upset for attention, then nah. I can be the most unbothered bitch there ever was.”
