Odette sat outside on the grass by the edge of the forest working her way through her latest book and found her attention pulled away by some birds hopping around nearby her. A smile found its way onto her lips while she watched the birds chirp away.

She held out her hand to help Andy up from the ground. “Can you lot go one day without having one of you falling face first to the floor?”

Odette was gifted with a genius IQ - recorded at 240 which puts Odette in the top 3 highest IQ’s ever recorded in history -she’s currently #2 just under William James Sidis who’s an ansestor of hers and his IQ was between 250-300 points- she’s also the only woman in history to be placed in the top 3 ranks.

Due to her being so gifted, her parents have always been hard on Odette and demanded nothing but perfection from their daughter. Her father also made it clear that anything other than perfection wasn’t acceptable. They don’t acknowledge Odette much unless it’s for her achievements & academic success. in her mothers words - an extraordinary couple can’t have an ordinary daughter. This saying constantly repeats itself in Odettes head and this pushes her to work harder but there’s only so long before the brain and body give out

Odette plays piano, harp, speaks three languages, does ballet, bakes, writes & publishes her own research papers/books/study thesis’ and gymnastics; all of which her mother put her forward to do. the only one she actually has grown to like is piano and she figures that music runs in the family since her dad plays piano so it’s nothing to write home about.

With the pressure of perfection increasing the cracks are starting to show. Despite knowing that her parents are clearly not interested in her until they have to play happy family for the cameras, the need to make her parents proud is outweighing the idea of having her own choices in her life. The looming idea of being a failure and a disappointment strikes such a chord of fear in her that having her own choices on aspects in her life is only but a dream.

Her mother put Odette through elocution lessons all through her childhood, she speaks proper with a posh accent. she can’t swear to save her life, she knows she would sound stupid and avoids it at all costs.

She was bullied a lot when she was younger. Odette was somewhat of an ugly duckling when she was younger until the summer of her 4th year. She was bullied for her looks, her intelligence and everything else in between. She was terrorised by many and it made such an impact of self loathing and hatred on herself that she’s never really been able to shake it off.

Exhausted all the time. 

She’s so focused on studying and her extra curriculars that Odette often forgets to eat or stay hydrated.

Relationship with Parents: Odette knows her parents (kind of) care about her and she wants nothing more than to prove her worth to them and to finally win their approval. They are overbearing, pushy and are basically going through the motions in order to make Odette the perfect child without taking into consideration of the effects it will have on Odette. Daphne put Odette through elocution lessons to make her a proper lady and her father Tobin put Odette to the test academically, pushing her to do advanced academics at a young age and all through her life. He made it clear that anything less than top marks were unacceptable and her mother stood by her husbands side on the matter. The only times they have shown Odette interest is when it comes to putting her forward for some other extra curricular, academic class or at a social event they demanded she be present for.

Relationship with siblings: Only Child - she’s thankful that they didn’t have another child to terrorise with the hell they have her trapped in

Relationship with extended family: N/A - at best Odette sees her cousin Scorpius at school but outside of school, Daphne and Tobin keep Odette locked away from the outside world as much as they can.
