From mountain bones
'Neath skull-wrought skies
We sail on seas of red;
Sea-raiders,
Shieldmaidens
Odin's wolves and bears.
This life of mine,
Sweet wife of mine,
Guard our precious stead.
Faithful to me,
Please wait for me,
'Til Valkyries strike me dead.
This life I love,
Snow white as doves,
Bare land and field and farm.
To raid and plunder,
Gather and grow,
By my own strong, hard-worn arm.
Thor's mighty hammer,
That mighty hammer,
Forged by scores of dwarves:
It beats the anvil,
It's thunder rumbles
To riches and to war.
A hill of green,
Abundant land so green,
Swathes of rivers blue.
These Western lands
So much richer than
Our crops and farms so few.
A hope: to settle,
To live and to settle
In these English western lands,
Our sons and daughters,
Their children and theirs,
With these riches at their hands.
Our future so bright,
Our people so bright,
Our culture so deep and true.
One lord they have
One price they give:
Our faith and Gods withdrew.
Long gone are they,
Long dead are they:
Ancestors ancient and old
That gave their gods
Turned from the Gods
Those settlers so eager and bold.
