trickster power - causes bad luck in varying degrees

grew up in jeju, but when he was scared he was about to be outed as a mutant he ran away

(hint: it’s because he accidentally killed someone)

a bitter guy that minds his own business and pretends to be cute so the neighborhood aunties will give him snacks

has a lot of aegyo but is actually like.... #/fake. hes selfish and greedy and also a coward. runs away from his problems, sabotages his own relationships, and frankly he is where he is because of his own faults

.... little bit pathetic, but infuriating and stubborn and ornery which means it’s kind of hard to get a pity party started for him

except ofc hes a nosy shit that needs to make his own entertainment and sometimes that... might get him into a little trouble, who knows? 

not very threatening frankly. not just because his power cant really be used offensively - hes kinda short and frail. the wind could blow him over

he's a person full of contradictions because he cant ever make up his own mind. he wants affection but rejects it, he wants friendship but acts greedily and cruelly, he wants someone to selflessly care for him but is selfish in return

i’m terribly shy and have no backbone whatsoever but i do have some ideas for threads/plots because i really need to get some going. under the cut, so i don’t spam the dash! if you’d like to take any of these, just shoot me a message here or on discord

seek him out for the very standard “i need you to do a job for me” and he’ll make you a biomechanical prosthetic whatever you need - for a price 

alternatively: someone try to sneak naz onto a core planet - he’s got a stolen ship, and so can’t land there by himself. you better be paying him good money for a risk like this

he’s making a prosthetic for someone you don’t like, but you visit and ask how much it’ll cost for him to purposely sabotage it (naz voice: pls dont involve me in your politics im a coward)

alternatively: he sabotaged your/someone you like’s prosthetic on purpose and now you’re after him

both of you were working at an illegal station but there’s a sudden crackdown and you can’t reach your ship, so you beg to get on naz’s

alternatively: reversed positions: he gets on your ship and swears he’ll pay you to help him get his ship back. it has too many valuables for him to just buy a new one

‘Outpost’ was perhaps a bit of a stretch for this particular station– maybe it had once belonged to the Empire, but it was long abandoned. Now, it was a hub for morally dubious businesses and illicit dealings. 

No one was looking to get caught, so all of the businesses were run out of ships docked alongside the main station. This way, at the first hint of trouble the place could be empty within a few minutes. It also allowed them to have an easy rotation of businesses. A space belonging to an organ dealer one day might belong to a well-known bounty hunter or a smuggler the next. 

None of those were why Cipher Four had visited the station, though. No, she was chasing one particular rumor. 

“Hello,” She called out, knocking at the entrance of one particular shop. She’d heard he wasn’t around often, liked to travel around to different stations and worlds, so she was lucky to catch him when she did (that’s a lie, she had very detailed info and it had nothing to do with luck). 

“Hello, I head that there was a very skilled Cybernetics Specialist at work here? I have a job for you, if you’re interested in a lot of money.”

it takes all of twenty minutes for him to set up - a millennia in comparison to those that had put up shop next to him, most likely a cause for nightmare if he’d need to pack up at sudden notice, but naz is obsessive. it takes his droid minutes to scrub the place from top to bottom, the slightest speck of dust having the potential to ruin the delicate metal frames he was working with. and after that, there’s a matter of unloading everything and setting up a makeshift work station - he’s got multiple people coming in to see him today, and of that number he’s sure at least one or two will show.

he’s in the middle of finishing setting up when someone comes in through the entrance of the shop. 

unfamiliar. stoic. statuesque. immediately, it sets him on edge - there was something wooden about her, impossible to decipher, and he didn’t like that. he was a straight forward person, and anyone who had something to hide here was hiding something surely terrible. whether it was terrible for him was another matter to determine.

“you’ve come to the right place,” he says, a forced smile on his face. he’s practiced these words, knows they’re meant to sound welcoming, but they come out of his mouth awkward and robotic. 

he sets down the tools he’d had in his hands, placing them gently in their correct place. “would you prefer to speak of this in a more private space?”

Naz hasn’t stepped foot on Arkania in a long time - space is no less cold, no less empty, no less vile, and so he figures he’s not missing out on much. It is a tad lonely out here; he has his droid, a bratty little thing with no respect for authority and a database on nearly everything, but it’s not substitute for companionship.

Ideally, he should have a more stationary base than this, but a stolen ship is much harder to land than he’d originally planned.

It’s a fatal flaw to admit he hadn’t thought this far ahead, but it would be an even worse one to admit it, considering that he can’t exactly go back. He doesn’t want to either, but the can is more important here. A genius by universal standards, but being barely average on his own planet was not quite enough. There’s only so much success he can have in a place where everyone is - it pains him to say it - smarter than him.

At least like this, he’s in a position to make money, make a name for himself. Infamy is not quite what he’d had in mind, but he’s got a constant stream of clients trying to reach him, flying out to his ship, paying good money for undocumented cybernetics and procedures.

So no, it’s not ideal - but it’s most certainly better than going back.
