For all of the light that I shut out. For all of the innocent things that I doubt. For all of the bruises I've caused and the tears. For all of the things that I've done all these years. For all of the sparks that I stomped out. For all of the perfect things that I doubt.

What’s the best way to calm down your muse when they’re angry?

it varies tbh. jack isn’t typically the angry type, but that’s not to say he isn’t capable. he doesn’t take kindly to people hurting his loved ones or those he deems innocent, nor waving off the value of human life ( looking at you luci ), and lastly, he doesn’t like being called useless let alone actually BEING useless. it was one of the reasons he had hated being human as much as he had. if he were in a typical normal type situation, without hunters as a family, being human would be fine. but when it came down to the fact he was powerless and could barely throw a punch, yeah he wasn’t super happy with it. he was able to teach himself things, how to tend to wounds, how to pick locks, a large number of skills. but not even the best gun could help him if he didn’t know where to point it. 

back to the question at hand bc i veered wAYYY off it. the best way to calm him down, remind him of mercy, of kindness. he’s the kind of person to become angry due to his feelings, remind him of those feelings, except the better ones. remind him there is more than ugliness and hate, remind him of the love and affection he knows is out there. 

also, chocolate. ( as the saying goes, eat a snicker )

“i know that.” truly and utterly, jack DID. castiel would never raise a hand to him, would never want to fight, would never let malice befall him. he had every ounce of faith in the angel he had chosen as his father before he even saw the world itself. but. “i can’t just--” struggling to find the words ( the vocabulary was so big ?? ) “i can’t just sit by and WATCH you...” the words were a struggle to say, to admit. ( castiel? his father? his hero? ) “i can’t stand back and watch you hate yourself. i just can’t.” was he allowed to say the words? he wanted to say the words--- he was going to say the words. “not when i love you so much. i can’t.” | ( @ofetherealfaithx )

following up on some bits of i n f o r m t i o n, it lead ben to where he was now which was at the coffee shop because of the sign in the window matching one of his books. the older male wasn’t taking the chance of missing anything so he began talking to each person in the shop. “it’s a coffee, drinks on me. it’s s c a l d i n g though.” he warns, pulling his own chair in as he took a seat. “nearly burns the taste buds right off.” better to start it off on a light note, right?

“thank you.” jack replied pleasantly, in all fairness he was more of a cereal person. milk and the like. but coffee wasn’t something he minded all too much, it was rejuvenating at the very least. a real KICKER to the young nephilim’s senses. it was funny though, he had heard the other man loud and clear and yet when he drank the words had fallen deaf. sputtering at the heat in his mouth, as if he hadn’t just been warned about such explosives. “it is--- it is very hot.” he agreed fervently. briefly he wondered if perhaps his capacity for pain had diminished in his increased death, or maybe the place made their coffee REALLY hot.

AGATHA WAS WORKING IN A LOCAL bar, but today she received orders to offer a drink for free to the costumers. ❛ This is a cherry Redbull. The owner of this place made a partnership with the company. It is for free. Some people like to mix it with vodka. ❜ Then she put the can in front of him, aside of the glass.

IT WAS AN UNFAMILIAR WORD IN ITSELF. “redbull?” a brand name, obviously. he figured that much. quite random though, if you asked jack. just two words strung together to make something supposedly eye (ear?) catching. “i do like cherry though...” and it didn’t look like it was poison or even alcohol. “i’ll give it a try.” he decided.

SHE STILL GOES THROUGH THAT STIFLING MOMENT, where she tries to reconcile the reality of her situations. amara blinks at him from her spot on the ground and wonders if the others in the park can see him too. “ hello,” amara greets gently. there’s a steadily growing pile of flowers in front of her and she plucks one, offering it out to him. it’s the easiest way to tell - - they can only take the flowers if they’re real, and with the voices whispering with the wind his corporeality is a desperate wish. “ flower? “@ofablaze​ 

SHE WAS OFFERING HIM A FLOWER. there wasn’t much dangerous about a flower, jack would figure. however, in all technicality, there wasn’t much dangerous about him either and he knew... differently. appearances were overtly deceiving. he was a living an example of that, that flower could have been too. she could have been. but... his instinct spoke to trust her, and he wanted to believe in those. couldn’t be much of a good hunter if he didn’t follow them. so--  “thank you.” careful of the flower, not to crush it in his hand. “it’s... pretty.”

     She would have loved to be there. To watch him grow. Though not as fast as she expected from what he told her when he went to heaven but still, just being with her son is enough. She wouldn’t change him for the world. JACK IS EVERYTHING TO HER. “ My beautiful boy.” She hugged him a little tighter before she pulled back to get a good look at him. “ I swear you got taller since I last saw you. Are you okay? Alright? How are you doing? Are you happy?” Kelly started wanting to know everything. “ I’m sorry. I know I’m bombing you with questions. I’m so happy to see you again. Is this strange for you? “ She hoped it wasn’t strange for him. After all, she was guilty of not being there for him. Even if the cause was her being dead. “ I just didn’t think I’d see you again… I tried to call castiel but I didn’t think he had the same number and I tried asking for you … I didn’t think you’d be in the city. I didn’t know where to start. All I know is that I wanted to see my son. ” 

         “have i?” that was wishful thinking, jack hadn’t gotten much of any taller since the day he’d been born. growing taller felt much like a pipe dream, with castiel, dean and especially sam towering over as they continuously did. and, in all fairness, it was easier to sway on the TALLER comment, then the emotion building deep in his chest. the yearning for something he couldn’t totally understand, the safety she brought forth just by a simple touch. that unconditional love --- it was a lot. she loved him so much, barley knowing him, and that just--- it was nice. “i um...” it was a lot of question, admittedly. he didn’t know much of how to respond, only that he didn’t want to make her sad ( and the fact that, if spoken truth, most likely she would be ). “i’m happy to see you too.” that much was absolutely true. “it...” was it strange? not any more so than the rest of his life, in comparison. strange, but unlike most other things, a GOOD thing was coming forth from it. “castiel is here... i don’t know if he changed his numbers but we could find him--- he’s been taking good care of me. with sam and dean too.” that was important to say, he figured. for her to KNOW, that he had people to rely on. people that loved him all so much. “i... i never thought i’d see you again either.” he’d never been so glad to be wrong.

     “ It’s a smoothie. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have any alcohol in it.” Hayley told him. “ Unless you prefer a warm glass of milk. You look a little too young to be having alcohol either way.” 

         “i don’t think i’ve had one of those before.” it wasn’t like hunters were all too keen on the fruity pink type of drinks. not that they were AGAINST them, per say. it just wasn’t something jack could imagine any of the hunter’s he’d known drinking. well, actually that a bit of a lie. he had seen a certain someone drink smoothies but those had been green so- “what’s in it? besides fruit.” it looked and smelled fruity, so he figured as much.

“its only fair. i did run into you and make you spill your drink,” elodie shrugged, mildly amused smirk at the look on his face. “its just a kind of iced tea. hope that’s okay.” she was a fan of the passion tango lemonade from starbucks so when they’d been out of his apparent preferred drink the hunter deviated. “they were out of yours. sorry. its good though.”

“it was an honest mistake.” and if anyone knew heavy-handedly about mistakes, it was jack. he wasn’t one to hold much against most anyone, especially not of this sort. “i like iced tea, yeah.” a kind smile reproached his face at her kindness. “thank you, i appreciate this.” offering his hand, he spoke. “i’m jack.”

The hybrid was sitting down, enjoying his drink, when he saw someone putting something suspicious on the drink that they gave to another boy. He couldn’t just let that slide, so stepped up, “Hey, you probably shouldn’t drink it, there’s something in it,” the person didn’t seem very pleased that he said something, which was even more suspicious, “I would throw it away if I was you.”

could it have been a demon? or even an angel, or maybe just an enemy in general. as for what the something was, jack had a magnitude of guesses. from holy oil to-- okay, actually holy oil was his only guess besides the obvious poison. the effects of which would vary on him, nephilim and all. “thank you.” he noted kindly, appreciating the effort in which it took to warn him.

        Kelly never understood what her mother meant when she said children are like knives.  And in a sense she now gets it. they are like knives. They don’t mean to, but they cut. And yet we cling to them. mothers clasp them until the blood flows. A mother’s body remembers her babies-the folds of soft flesh, the turnings and movements inside her belly, waiting for the day for them to cause the pain of their birth tearing their bodies that makes it all worth it. Each child has it’s own entreaties to body and soul. The day she gave birth to him was the day she died and she would do it all over again, knowing the outcome. A mother’s love knows no bounds “–JACK!” Kelly saw him and couldn’t help herself. Running towards him to hug him. She knew how her boy looked like. She had the chance to see him in heaven and while part of her hoped to see him again, she knew and hoped it wouldn’t be for a long time. Seeing him in heaven meant his end. But now? it was different. She was alive. Living. Breathing. and at the moment having her child in her embrace. “Oh my–My beautiful baby boy.”  

            the first time he’d seen her face, it was the video sam had given him. a video she’d made, proclaiming her love. but before that--- he had FELT her. felt her heartbeat, heard her voice whispering in his ear that it wasn’t safe to be small. that he was someone who needed to be big, needed to be strong, because the world was scary and it was cruel and it woulnd’t spare him. the first time he saw her eyes in person was when the shapeshifter took her form. and then, he’d actually met her. up in heaven, he met her finally. he remembered her sorrow at him being there, but he also remembered how warm her hugs were. how kind she was. it was a different love than sam, dean, and castiel. not lesser ( of course not, not in either regards ) but it was different all the same. “kelly...” he began, only for the words to fail in favor of a different one. “mom.”

“Yeah, well…at least it wasn’t hot coffee.” Lucifer thought that maybe he shouldn’t have second-guessed that, but had decided to play nice above all else this day. Play nice, get nice rewards, right? That was how it was supposed to work? The things he did for love. Pulling a smile on, Lucifer offered a nod. “There’s a coffee shop around the corner. They have other things too, and well..it’s the least I can do.” Barf. It felt forced, and Lucifer was sure it was sounding forced as well. Man, he wasn’t sure he could do this. “Yes, yes, of course! Sorry again, I really need to start looking at where I’m going.”

A nod of his head. “Yes, I’d imagine hot coffee would have been something worse.” It would have been steaming on their skin, potentially burning it. He would have churned with guilt if that were to have happened, as it was it was just a spilled drink. “A coffee shop sounds nice.” In his (lack of) experience, there were nice small and quaint shops. “It’s okay, I bump into people all the time too.” He assured kindly. Being a bit more aware was something he was working on n general, he had to stop falling into his own head. “How long have you been in San Francisco Luci?” He asked, attempting to make some conversation on their walk.

         THERE WAS LOTS TO THINK ABOUT QUITE FRANKLY. mary was always a lingering thought, for instance. there was never a moment when jack wasn’t devastated by his actions that resulted in her death. there were other things he’d done too, while soulless. not to mention their situation as a whole, missing out on life for almost a decade when he’d barely begun getting used to it as it was. even now, so many months later, it still daunted him. a knock on his door pulled the young man from his thoughts. “you could come in.” he called out, fairly sure it was sam, dean or castiel. || @ofetherealfaithx​

    “oh, thank you.” vaguely jack heard a voice in his head reminding him please DON’T accept drinks from strangers? “what is it, though?” it still impressed him how many drinks and liquids were out there that he had no knowledge of. he wouldn’t drink it just yet, but he also didn’t want to be rude and throw it away ( they could just be being kind, right? ).

Great, he wonders how many other things were out there. What other creatures he was going to have to be worried about this time around. Not that angels were a bad thing but if angels existed then their counterpart did too and he was not looking forward to ever come face to face with a freaking demon.  ❛ I met you know all kinds of tricks. ❜ He tried forcing a smile but it was hard with everything that was going on, not only in his head but his body too. This was unnaturally cold.  ❛ Bad? I think that’s the understatement of the year. This is more than bad. Feels like I’m going to freeze to death and if I’m feeling it then - those people out there, they might not make it.  ❜ Humans were not built to withstand this level of coldness. Not without any form of preparation or gear anyway. The blankets that the hospital had provided were not going to be enough, not to mention the fact that the heating system was a joke.  ❛ Are you feeling this? ❜ 

“I do.” Though Jack refrained from calling them tricks on the account that lessened the gravity of them, that if he wasn’t careful he could seriously harm another--- and that was the last thing he wanted. Harming someone again was something he had nightmares about. It was a reality he didn’t want to face, not now and not ever again. I’m so sorry Mary--  “I’ve never felt so... so c-cold.” A stutter to his words, something new to the young man. He wasn’t the type to stutter, always blunt to speak his mind. “I don’t like this...” His voice was smaller in his fraught. “Is--- is there anyone out there?” He dreaded the thought, actually being OUTSIDE in this freezing cold was quite a unwelcomed thought. A nod of his head, a shiver of his whole being. “It’s getting--- it got... worse.” so much worse.

“figured you would be but i like checking.” as though the verbal confirmation made the difference. she may not know what he is, other than rather unique, but she knows she trusts him and wants to take care of him like she does her friends. maybe a little bit more. “yeah, fingers and toes came close to freezing off but other than that,” she shrugged. “though… it was a little daunting. i was scared for a while.” about freezing to d e a t h. “anyway, to celebrate not dying, laura and andrea are coming over on friday for drinks, food and movies, if you’d like to join us?” what was it they called him? one of the girls. she knew they’d love him, who wouldn’t? 

“thank you then.” he spoke, smile lit upon his lips for someone he considered a friend. a nod of his head, smile dulling a bit at the mention of such a time ( he wasn’t overly fond of the memory, if he were being honest. not that he could be much blamed for it. ) a bit more solemn, his gaze became. “i...” he contemplated for a moment. “i don’t think i was scared.” he had faith, faith that they would survive. faith that they had to survive. “oh, um.” he’d never been invited to something like this before-- though he could guess how it went. just like she said. drinks, food, and movies.  “i don’t know laura or andrea. but i think i’d like that, if that’s okay.”

Offering the single napkin that had been given with the drink as a little white flag, Lucifer sighed and threw the now empty cup into a nearby trashcan. “Are you sure? I’m sorry again, I really need to get my head out of the clouds.” Pulling a warm smile to the face of the vessel felt odd and sickening, but Lucifer swallowed down the urge to gag and soldiered on. The things he did for this kid, for love. As his boy asked for a name, Lucifer wondered how in the world he’d forgotten something so simple. He’d gone into such detail with the rest of his plans, but giving this vessel a name? Nope, nada. As crickets chirped in his ear, he offered “Lucy,” and internally cringed. “Can I buy you a drink as an apology? I need to get a new one, so…”

“I’ve had worse.” Jack assured thoughts to all the monsters gooey insides splattered, not to mention all the blood ( some of it his own ). “I promise, it’s alright.” And with such word’s he offered a smile to the blonde, a welcoming one. “Oh a drink?” It wasn’t like they were his favorite thing, but many people seemed to be inclined towards them and Jack was all about fitting it. He wanted nothing more than to be a part of the world in which he lived, to thrive through his human side as much as he could. Which meant adapting his likability of drinks, so be it. They were good to converse over, at the very least. “Hi Lucy, I’m Jack.” He responded brightly. “Would you mind if we made a stop before we got the drink?” He needed to change his shirt after all.
