Darren laughed, scooping up some of the popcorn that didn’t fall on the floor and eating it. “Oh, but it was worth it.” He stated before throwing another single piece at Amelia.
"It was not!" She stuck her tongue out at him before sighing a little, allowing him to eat the popcorn. "You're a butthead, ya know that."

Sounds like a typical teenage answer. Alright, well, you’re aware that the money to replace it comes out of your allowance, right?
And I'm sure by doing a little begging and what not can get dad to give me more.

It was a good enough answer, Derek shaking his head and smiling. “You know, you could always ask him. I heard it’s this new thing people are doing.” he leaned back a little, grabbing a cookie for himself and munching on it.
"Ugh, you just don't get it." She muttered, rolling her eyes at him. "I want him to ask me." Amelia glanced down at her hands then gave a slight sigh. "I want him to ask me because it makes me feel, how to explain it...special."

He sighed, pulling out a fifty and waving it at her. “My only rule is I meat whoever your date is. I want them in my house, to pick you up, so I can look them in the eyes and do my fatherly duty. Do we have an understanding, young lady?”
Amelia let out a slight huff, glaring at him before snatching at the bill. "Fine. You can meet him if he decided to man up and ask me. Good?" She folded her arms while her eyes stared at the money.

Derek was about to dig out his wallet when he paused. “A dance. Like… with boys and girls and music?” he narrowed his eyes, looking over his daughter slowly and then fishing his wallet out. “How much is a few bucks and do you have a date?”
"Yes. Boys, girls, and music." She rolled her eyes a little bit, stopping at his neck question. "Ticket is ten but I have to go shopping. As for a date. It's a possibility." Amelia smiled, biting into her cookie.

How’d you break it?
I was doing stuff and ran into it and it broke. Pretty simple.

"Joy" he said, smirking at her and taking the cookie. "But still. You shouldn’t be up right now. What would your dad say about it, hmmm?" he paused, looking the girl over and then letting out a huff. He handed the cookie back and hopped on the counter as well. "Is something bothering you?"
"Why can't I be up? It's the weekend." She mused, taking the cookie back and taking a bite. "Actually, yes. There's a dance on Friday and I need your permission to go. As well as a few dollars so I can buy the ticket and all."

Well, I imagine since your father and I haven’t been home all day, the lamp must have broken itself.
Must have. Probably hated itself so much that it just fell over.

Derek paused, looking the girl over slowly and then quirking a brow. “Its the privilege I get for being older. You, young lady, are supposed to be in bed.” he walked into the kitchen to grab some water. “Don’t you have school in the morning?”
"It's Labor Day. I've been given the day off for being such a hardworking student." She explained with a slight smirk, following behind him and grabbing a cookie from the counter. "So no, I don't have school."

She glanced up at the sound of the door opening, seeing Derek walk in. "You know how you get on me about being late? Well, you're pretty late yourself."

"That lamp was broken when I got home."
Darren smiled back, weakly, giving her a one armed hug back. “Yeah, it does.” He reached over, grabbing the popcorn and dumping the bucket on her head. “Hope you didn’t want any more of that.”
She let out a sneeze as the popcorn and salt covering it fell into her face. "Uncle Darren!" Amelia called out with a glare. "That wasn't very nice!"

"Can I just never go to school, again?"
Derek held her close against him, one hand moving against her back, the other keeping her head steady. Most of the time he didn’t know what to do when she cried, nothing he said could magically make it better, but at Stiles insisted even just being there for someone could help immensely. “It’s okay baby girl, I’m here.No matter what, daddy will make sure it’ll be okay.”
Hearing him consoling her immediately made the female feel better. Her arms held onto him tighter and the sobs quieted- slightly. It was the little and very simple things like that that made the girl feel better.
"I’m not mad." He admitted, sighing and running a hand through his hair. "That’s not your battle. That’s your father’s, the packs, mine." He sat back down, looking at his hands as he picked at his nails. "I’m sorry."
She curled up beside him, wrapping both arms around his torso. "Would it make you feel better if I told you you're my favorite Uncle?" Amelia questioned with a broad grin.
Derek frowned, but he still didn’t pull away from his daughter. “We can’t always protect ourselves. We rely on our pack for that support, you have that pack you can rely on.” He moved his fingers under her chin, lifting it up so she could look at him. “I’m not going to forget it, I don’t want you to feel powerless. We can work together to figure it out, how to make you more powerful as a wolf or…not a wolf.”
She gave a small nod then looked down. "Yes, father." Amelia then slid both arms around him, gripping tightly. It was then the young girl began to sob.
Deciding that it was seriously no use, Darren dropped the subject. Of course, he’d be having a nice long chat with Stiles and Derek about this growing up too fast thing. Of course, Derek would say that. He had to grow up fast. “This movie is boring.” He opted to say, turning it off and getting up from the couch.
She sighed a little, turning away. "Now you're mad because I'm grown up? I have no choice, Darren! I have to be with all of this shit that has been going on. Don't you get that?"
