Upon hearing the bell ring, she was quite accustomed to people coming in during this time of year looking for anything but ice cream, and on occasion, she knew she had the means to sell hot chocolate and even baked goods from time to time, but that never stopped the far and few between who came for the ice cream and stayed for the ice cream, which only brought the smile out of Elisa, especially when she could appreciate it herself. Without much warning, she popped out from behind the door that led to the kitchen area to see the young figure glancing through each and every flavor she had. That was the kind of dedication she liked to see, knowing she always had a tough time herself when it came to choosing what she wanted.
As the young woman had started voicing her seemingly apparent thoughts as she scanned through the tubs, Elisa only chuckled a bit, hiding her smirk behind a slim and all too inviting smile as her hands waited against the door to open the glass when she finally decided. “I know, they’re all so good, trust me. I’ve been here long enough and have had all the flavors, and sometimes even I can’t decided what mood I’m in.” Chocolate was always her father’s favorite, and a flavor she held near and dear to her heart, so to hear the other grow closer to that, Elisa elicited nothing but pure nostalgia.
When her words seemed to come up empty, she glanced up from the flavors finally to get a better look at her customer, who just couldn’t decide. First it was the hair that caught her off guard. It was the same shade of orange and red and brown and strawberry blonde that she could only see in one person. And then it was the face, the shape and her eyes that she could seemingly pick out of a thousand different green eyes. The day she was separated from her sister was the day she had been separated from everything, including herself, and while she stared back at the young woman who had by chance walked into her parlor, Elisa could only mutter har name back, because she certainly couldn’t get herself to say anything else without confirmation. “Annabeth?”
when the other woman finally spoke her name, the suspicions that had been tossed and turned around in her head for the past few moments were confirmed. it was her sister. her other half. the one person in the world that she had been missing all this time. honestly, anna could hardly believe that this was real. that it wasn’t some kind of dream that she was having since she’d had many like it before. in fact, the ginger had to reach down delicately to her forearm in order to pinch herself to make sure that she wasn’t in fact dreaming. the sharp feeling against her skin assured her that this wasn’t something in her dreams.
before she could really think about controlling it, she could feel the hot, wet tears start to well up in her eyes and then fall down her cheeks. anna had never really been someone that could hide her emotions. and well, the overwhelming happiness that she felt seemed to manifest itself in the form of a stream of tears. “ oh elisa! “ she breathed out. if she could, she probably would have jumped over the display of ice cream. but, even with how happy she was, that was out of the realm of possibility. thus, she settled for rushing to the payment counter. she was sure that there was probably a place for her to cross from the front of the store to the back, but in her excitement she couldn’t think to find it.
so, instead she settled for half-leaning on the counter that turned into a climb. to which the girl slipped almost promptly off of the top and fell on the other side. thankfully, she managed to land in a position where she was sitting and thus a little more cushioned. “ oh!I “ she called out more in surprise than pain. “ okay.. so that wasn’t a good idea. “ she grimaced as she glanced up at her sister from where she sat on the floor.
