[ Activity Update: Hiatus ]

Okay my lovelies, it’s that time of year again. Anah is back in school as the new semester starts and that means classes and meetings and a whole lot of my time being taken up.

As some of you may or may not know, I am a double major in Animation and Screenplay writing. That being said, this is the point in the year where all my important classes are bombarding me all at once. I have three animation classes (traditional 2D, digital 2D, and digital 3D) an advanced scriptwriting class, several english classes, and finally band. This requires an extraordinary amount of work outside of class, which means my activity is probably going to be dropping a lot just because I have to get all these projects done on time, collaborate with other students etc. 

I know I’m flaky at best with my activity as it is, but I just really wanted you guys to realize why I’m just going to be very scatter brained for a while. I’m hoping that long weekends and holidays will give me ample time to write with you beautiful people. Also, if you’re wanting to keep in contact with me outside of tumblr you can contact me via:

The fare wasn’t much, certainly. Ingirun had caught better things in the river with her bare hands, and those usually included horribly disfigured fish that the wolves and bears were too full to kill. Two rabbits skewered upon a stripped bough were hardly enough to fill the stomach of the young dwarven woman, but here she sat upon the stump she made herself after breaking the tree down by repeatedly ramming it with her shoulder.

The garbled words of her stomach arose over the crackle of the fire, causing her to frown deeply; back home, Ysilonna would be surrounded by her kin that practically outnumbered the stars in the sky, while the older children added fresh beef to the pot, the younger ones trying to peer into the large cauldron to watch the tender flesh simmer and break apart in the heat of the stew.

If this rabbit didn’t cook any faster on this makeshift spit Ingirun had learned to make after spending some time with a man who let her work on his farm for a short time, she was going to rip the animal from it’s current roost and tear it to shreds with her teeth.

It had been a long day, wrought with nothing but pegging squirrels from high branches with rocks launched from his bow. The creatures writhed from the leaves to land upon the earth unceremoniously, a quick death, he assured as he leaned heavily over in his horse's saddle to gather them. There had been near a dozen by the time he had finished his rounds, the edges of the forests quiet save for a few lulling deer, nothing to fear but the cold that would come with night. It would do no good to make a trip back to the others, far too long a journey in the waning light. 

The Ranger had turned the head of his steed toward a familiar cavern when he saw it through the trees, a pillar of smoke and the hot glow of embers through the breaks of the trees. Curiosity got the best of him, as a young lad would be drawn by the sweet smell of his mother's cooking, he pressed his ebony beast forward, sloshing through the waters of the bank to alert the stranger of his presence. 

A Dwarven lass— it had been many days since he'd last seen of their people.

"Madam," His tone was light as he dipped his head in greeting, eyes sweeping over her camp before lingering upon her features. "How do you fare this evening?"

Kíli grinned.  The Dwarf could tell Amera surrounded herself with great company as well, for the bond between Rangers reminded him very much of the bond between Dwarves.  There might have been some fights and harsh words exchanged, but at the end of the day, the Company was what it was and what it always would be to him: a company.  Family.  Kin.  And Kíli had to suppose that the Rangers were like that as well.  The Dwarf was no expert on the matter, far from it, but it was a tender thought to think about it like that.  ”I can say the same for you.  Thought all y’Men were sticks-in-the-mud.”

"Oh, a lot of us are, don't let me break you of those assumptions," There's a lightness in his tone, something like a smile quirking the edges of his lips just enough to note his amusement. "It has been long since I have fallen upon decent company, a good conversation is something as powerful as a mug of mead, I swear by it, can cure men of aches they didn't even know they had." The Ranger lacked true knowledge of Dwarves or their culture, only knew of it from the stories his mother had told him as a boy, of great halls filled with jewels and gold, a hearty people that were not to be reckoned with. Stout, yes, but of bold hearts. "I have not spoken to Dwarf for a long while, even then it was hardly as kindred as this encounter. Tell me Master Dwarf, how does your people fare?"

She gave him a soft smile. “Before you, I have not known kindness. At least not true kindness. I always thought I was doing good if I went a day without being knocked to the ground.”

Her fingers flexed over the pommel before moving to scratch gently at her thigh. What she said was true, she mused as she thought of the scars that covered her skin. There was a time when she thought that some of them would never heal, but they did and they remained a constant reminder of everything that she’d come through. A wry smile pulled at her lips then. She’d come through one hell to be delivered into another, how very fitting. “You don’t understand, Ranger. By delivering me to the consequences of my actions, you are delivering me to my end. If I ever leave Minas Tirith again, it will be as a corpse- whether by my own hand or theirs.”

"I hardly think you have yet tasted true kindness, I speak with manners that should be afforded all— this is not kindness. This is merely decency." The decency that his mother had taught him as a lad was lost to many in this age, where death and war tore villages to their foundations and left children without food nor home. Abrazîr never saw himself as a good man, but the least he could do was pretend in the hate and lust sodden world, pretend and perhaps his kindness could spark more in others. Perhaps his mother's teachings could reach out to more hearts and stay more blades. Then maybe, just maybe there could be an Age not drenched in the blood of brothers and families torn to ruin. He spoke not to Evey because head to, but merely because he chose to. It seemed her life had been wrought with a devastatingly long bought of anger and pain and the least he could offer as he took her to her end, was maybe give her a glimpse of what life should have been like. 

The Ranger took the words she offered and stored them away, knew they were truth and it weighed heavy on his heart. She was young, many good years ahead of her, but not within the slums of the prisons. But he couldn't fix that, because he had orders and the lives she had claimed needed justice. "Does it take the fear away, knowing that your end is so near?" He gave the horses sides a light kick to press them into a faster gait. "Many men fear not knowing, but here it is laid out before you—."

“ The storm's wailing, ”

The rain fell in heavy droves, drops that beat against skin and drenched through layers of leather and wool. It left the Ranger sodden to his very bones, logged with icy water that only made his already sluggish strides stutter a little more. He could feel the slosh of it in his worn boots, muck managing its way through the tears in the leather and leaving his feet chilled and desperately achey. To continue through the night would be entirely foolish, and though he had broken the vow of his Rangers and strode away from their calling, it did not mean that the things they had taught him had been fleeting. He knew the condition he traveled was dangerous, chipping years off his life but in those dreary days he walked, he hadn't cared.

Abrazîr still lacked the care for much of anything these days, besides the luxury of a steady bed and warm food in his belly, which he sought like a starving man. The town he passed into was unknown to him, but it looked decent enough to harbor a few taverns for the weary. It only seemed that the entire town sought refuge, for the first he strode into was bustling, drunken men shouting and barmaids darting back and forth to fill their orders. There was a moment, just a sparse one, that he considered heading back into that storm but a peel of lightning had him maneuvering through the crowd trying to find at least one empty seat for his haggard bones.

There came a seat, a table toward the back that already seemed to be taken. But his manners be damned he reached for the empty chair all the same, raising his brows toward the stranger as he gave the seat a little rattle, "Mind for some company, Stranger?"

The large gathering of people at this town sparked interest in Cerys. Slowly she approached, and saw that Ranger that had help her save Bree. His hands, she spotted, were bound behind him; a hooded man stood beside him, brandishing a blood-stained axe - a headsman! Quickly, her feet carried her to the front of this crowd, pushing shoulders and shoving people out of her way. "Stop!" she yelled, and when none took notice, she nocked an arrow and pointed it at the headsman. "You cannot kill him!"
