her scarlet mane had already been in visible disarray, the consequence of too many hours spent restocking and categorizing textbooks after the caffeine-drenched college kids rifled through them - - - midterms were a particularly taxing time around the library; daphne hadn’t been entirely alert, but she soon found herself jolted back into reality with the sudden collision… and an unexpected dousing of coffee. “it’s… it’s fine,” daphne muttered, glancing down at her stained blouse. “i — it’s, um… i was on my way to get some anyway?”
“here, let me get it for you, i really owe you one,” her voice was soft an apologetic. anette was used to owing people favors, she had a habit of getting herself into trouble with her absentmindedness, and was always willing to make up for her wrongdoings. “besides,” she added quickly afterwards, “it seems i need to get another one myself.” she shook the plastic cup in her hand, now empty, to emphasize her point.
