{I apologize, again, for the absence. Things happened at work that took up so much of my time and the time I DID have off, I spent off of the computer. Either utterly exhausted with no motivation and energy or with family. It may be like this for a little longer due to there being only two techs (we JUST hired someone, so hopefully this will work out), so I greatly apologize for the sporadic activity and the absence for days in a row now and then. AU - Changing Sides

{Give me an AU where, after killing Snoke, Ben goes with Rey back to the Resistance. Perhaps he still asks Rey to join his side, but he is a bit more hesitant about it and Rey tries to help him see the error of his ways, of the path he is going down, and deep down, Ben does see it. She pleads with him to end all of this, just like in the movie.

And after killing Snoke, it’s as though Ben is freed. Snoke had this powerful hold over him, this control, that helped influence Ben and the decisions he made, the path he was going down, but with Snoke gone, it’s taken so much off of Ben. The pull towards darkness, the NEED to destroy the Jedi and the need to impress Snoke has, for the most part, died with Snoke himself. It’s a great relief for Ben, but the conflict within him, and his choices and ‘destiny’ lives on, so he would still battle with that. But he WANTS to give up this chaotic and violent path, as difficult as that may be for him.

Anyway, he ends up calling off the First Order’s attack on the Resistance and Rey pleads he come with her, that he leave the First Order and join her side, but Ben is hesitant because he knows as soon as they see him, they won’t hesitate to take him down but Rey vows she won’t let that happen. So, he goes with her and needless to say, the Resistance are incredibly unhappy to see him aboard their ship. Some want him executed him right then and there, but instead he is taken as a prisoner. And I can just imagine this angst filled moment where Leia approaches and the look of shock on her face when she sees Ben is evident, and then he sees her and immediately looks away with shame and guilt written all over his face. 

But yeah, he is taken as prisoner and doesn’t resist. Aboard a ship of so many people that despise him, except Rey and his mother. It’s an AU I’ve been thinking a lot about and would love to do if anyone is interested. We can always tweak/add some things (such as what happens with him and Hux, the interactions between him and Poe, Finn, Leia and everyone else really}, of course, and this is only the beginning of it!}

      SHE FEELS IT. right in the center of her skull, a pang of a memory— why he feels so close she can’t shake, but she knows his presence like the back of her hand. “BEN?”

He hears her voice and feels that strange sensation deep within his heart again, the sensation that terrifies him, yet at the same time, makes him want to reach out for her and never let go; to keep her near because she brings him that sense of comfort. Something he hasn’t felt in years; the feeling of being understood, of being cared for. They came to know more about one another through this connection created by The Force and, despite their opposing positions, they grew closer. There was this undeniable chemistry there, this powerful pull between them that he could so easily feel and he was sure she felt it, too. They even managed to touch for the first time only days ago, their fingers barely brushing against one another, but that was all it took for Kylo Ren to finally be able see all of her...including her surroundings. 

And then he interrupted; that damned Luke Skywalker. The man that nearly killed him in his sleep; the man that Kylo was determined to put an end to.. Seeing him there brought Kylo back to reality, and back to his determined state to destroy the last Jedi and to finally bring down the Resistance once and for all. And after that touch between them, it didn’t take long for Kylo to figure out Rey’s location; what with studying the areas around her, including the noises, and the moment he figured out her location, at Ahch-To, he set off.

His ship lands on one of the flat surfaces near the water and he sits there for a moment in silence. He could feel the guilt filling his heart, knowing she would feel angry over him using the connection to find her and Luke’s location, but she knew he had been trying to find him for some time now. And now he finally had. With a deep breath, he leaves his seat and exits his ship, eyes taking in his new surroundings before he finally responds to her, voice calm, and almost sounding like a warning. “I’m here.” He looks up at the stone village before him where he can feel her presence and knowing that she would be able to feel his, too.
