Elena still didn’t understand exactly. That she was gone but...not. Of course what did understand was that her friends and family were okay physically. Though there had been powerful losses, ones she would have sixty years of being locked in her mind to deal with. And now there was one last goodbye. Though her friends knew of him more than they knew him, he was one of her best friends. And she’d made sure they called him and told him to come and say goodbye. She was relieved that he already knew of her world, explaining this otherwise wouldn’t be the most fun. In her state she could hear things around her, though it all sounded muffled in her now human ears. Though she was almost certain that he was finally here, which meant soon Damon would place Sherrinford’s hand on hers and tell him to let her into his mind. And then he’d be there, and they could say goodbye.
