so sorry you guys, will do replies & starter tag tomorrow (tuesday), i’ve had no sleep & still have assignments to get done so i’m a bit stressed.
“Remind me again why I chose Astronomy. Some other reason that’s not along the lines of I’m good at it because of my precious family and so logic followed that it would be an easy class. I’m exhausted.”
“because you want the exercise of getting up to the astronomy tower?”
“now you’re talkin’. she’ll never knew what hit her. what do ya say?”
“i’m still not sure what you have planned exactly, and i’m so going to regret this but... okay.”
“i tripped on my way back from the courtyard and just scraped it up pretty bad.” she explained dismissively, shrugging.
shaking her head in amusement lily smiled bright, “try not to hurt yourself again today?” she requested.
Alice looked around as she set her notebook beside her in the grass. The grounds this time of year never ceased to amaze her. There was something peaceful about it and she knew despite things happening on the outside, there was a certain solace that came about her in this particular spot she’d been going to since her first year. She seemed to have gotten lost in hew book of aurors, jumping with a start at the sudden appearance. “I am so sorry, I didn’t think anyone would be out here today.”
the leaves had begun to change colour and even if lily knew what that actually meant she couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of it. despite the fact that it meant that she had to bundle up in scarves and other warm clothes now she ventured outside when she had the time to read. just sitting in a vaguely secluded spot was so much more relaxing. “it’s okay, it’s really not something to apologise for.”
“Whatever Lil… This conversation isn’t as stimulating as I’d like.” She said bored rolling her eyes
“i really didn’t mean to have a stimulating conversation, if that’s what you want you need to find me when i’m less pissed off or find someone else.”
“i was thinking we could leave her a little present. something that’ll catch her off guard, y’know?”
“this isn’t a present that’s been on her wish list since she was a kid i’m guessing.”
“I have options, just because I party doesn’t mean I’m useless, I’m in 3 OWLs and I’m going to be an auror, and if that doesn’t happen I’ll probably be dead for going against my family, so don’t you dare pretend being little miss perfect works for everyone.”
“i never said anything about you being useless, that was all on your own so i don’t think you’re going to be able to put that on me. i wouldn’t say i’m perfect either, so you probably shouldn’t, it’s just problematic and not really true at all.”
">
“erm… a misguided muggleborn? the pretty face only slightly makes up for it.” an awkward silence fell upon them abruptly. “… but i’m just being frank with you. it’s not the BEST idea && i suppose you’re a smart girl, at least, from what i’ve heard.”
lily rolled her eyes. “we’ve had classes together for far too many years for you to just have heard that i’m smart, you’ve seen it.” she pointed out, a tone of disbelief in her voice. “oh, and my being misguided is really just your opinion and i don’t think it’s valid.”
she nodded once she looked down at the girls seat, continuing to smile. “alright, just checking.” amelia told her, moving her leg so that her foot rested on the ground once more. “oh- thank you, but i’m alright. it’s nothing i can’t handle, i appreciate you checking on me though.”
humming softly lily nodded. “mind telling me what happened? if you don’t mind me asking of course.” she asked curiously.
“Doesn’t stop You from being a square.
“no, perhaps not, but at least i’ll have options in the future.”
“hmm, i might have an idea if you want to get revenge. how would you feel about returning the favor?”
“i’m automatically terrified when you mention revenge, but what do you have in mind?”
“i’m all for spontaneity, Lils, I just thought you might have thought it through a little more, you know.. – being you. because it’s the same tree that the guys carved out in third year.”
“that’s actually the exact reason why were not, thinking through things surprisingly enough has been getting me into more trouble than it should so i’m trying something new.”
“how rude. you were practically doing her job for her, she should’ve thanked you, not kicked you out.”
“i’m aware, it just didn’t make sense at all. it was all very rude.”
“hey, i don’t refuse to see it. you just have to convince me.”
“and that i can actually accept.”
amelia had just made it back from a walk around the grounds before she took a seat in the great hall. lifting her foot up on the seat beside her, she examined her bruised and scratched up knee that she had got from falling earlier. “ouch.” she muttered as she reached a finger out to touch it. “who knew i could be that clumsy.” it wasn’t until she turned her attention away from her knee that she noticed another figure standing nearby. “oh- do you want this seat?” she questioned, referring to the one she had her foot propped up in.
“no, i’ve got one over there.” lily shook her head and pointed to a seat further down, surrounded by crumpled up papers and books. “i saw that though, i figured i’d see if you were okay.” the blonde indicated to the bruised leg, offering a gentle smile. “do you need anything?”
“Where in merlin’s name are we even going? we’ve passed that tree eight times, and I swear I can feel the eyes of at least twelve centaurs watching us.”
“we’re being spontaneous, if i really knew we wouldn’t have passed the tree that many times. how do you even know that it’s the same tree?”
