         “—You alright?” She’s keeping her gaze evenon the other, uncertain what tomake of the boy’s silence; she hadn’tmeant to upset or anger him, if thatwas the case. It had just been an observation.

          “Ya, ya I’m fine. You just...surprised me is all.” He really wasn’t fine, if he was being perfectly honest. The words indeed had upset him, but he didn’t hold it against her. He could tell she hadn’t meant to, he just had a lot issues that he kept to himself that she had accidentally poked.

Uncertainty on what else to say made his face flush, and so he did what he did best; he said whatever came to mind, and hoped it made things better. “Is there a bar around here?” God, that was a terrible question, but it was necessary one.
