Totems are one of the most important parts in coming of age! They’re part of how a boy becomes a man, how a girl becomes a woman. 

They’re given to you by your tribe’s shaman, and whichever one you get means something about yourself.

Like my brother, Sitka, when he was still... well... alive, he was the glue that held Denahi and I together, and always showed us the way, matching his totem, the Eagle of Guidance.
