CONSUMER TIP-ORDERING ONLINE. I have worked in the health and beauty world for many years. Most of the companies I worked for had HUGE mail order divisions so I have been involved with mail order initiatives for almost 30 years. I have been responsible for coordinating huge shipments of raw materials (and countless carriers) and I've been responsible for simply mailing an envelope containing and accounts payable transaction. So I'm very familiar with shipping handling on most levels, air, land, and sea. If you order something incorrectly or decide you don't like it when you get it, you are often assessed round-trip shipping and handling fees (a.k.a. round-trip freight charges) if they have ordered something incorrectly or decide they don't like it when they receive it. I have often seen customers spend more in time and dollars, including standing in line at the post office, and those expenses cost more than the actual item that was ordered in the first place. Take your time when placing orders online or through mail order and if it's only a $10 or $20 item, I say repurpose it or find another use for it. You'll spend $10 in time and gas just to the post office. YUCK. Now damage issues are completely different and the manufacturer can issue call tags if shipped by UPS or simply send a replacement but you'll have to take it up with them. And finally if you are expecting a shipment, notify your neighbors to be on the lookout for you. And do a little homework yourself if you feel like somethings missing. Ask your mail carrier, call your local post office to see if it's being held with them. Double check the shipping method, shipping date, and the tracking number. This is something that I have a rich history with so I hope to be starts or helpful.
