Bucky licks his lips, watching the flame dance between his fingers. "Yeah, yeah you could say I'm interested in you and what you can do."

“Oh I don’t kiss and tell, but maybe I could show you.”

He brought his flaming fingers closer to Bucky and shuts it off like a match.

“I think I can trust you and your cringey boyfriend.”

"You wanna show me? Go ahead." Bucky raises an eyebrow at Johnny at the mention of Dayton. "Excuse me, my boyfriend isn't cringey."

“Woah there, buy me a drink first will ya pal?” Johnny laughs at how Bucky’s face contorts when he said his boyfriend is cringey.

“To me he is, pretty good racer though I’ll tell you that.”

"Oh sweetheart if I was coming on to you, you would know." Bucky says, drinking more of his coffee. "If you knew him you wouldn't be calling him cringey. He's a hell of a race care driver and a good man."

“Was joking with you old man, I don’t hang around with senior citizens for fucks and funsies.”

Johnny winked and finished his drink. He tossed the empty cup to the trash can with ease. He rolls his eyes at him when Bucky talks about his boyfriend. He sounds like Sue and Richard. Gaggingly in love.

“ ‘Kay old man, I’ll take your word for it.”

"I'm not an old man, well, not in all ways. I'm sure I can show you things that the people your age hasn't even thought of." Bucky says, scowling just a bit. He only found it slightly annoying that Johnny kept calling him old. "So if you don't hang out with people who are fun than why are you getting coffee with me?"

"Or you can come over sometime and find out yourself."

“Ooh okay, like what? Bend my knees without breaking them?”

Johnny could see that Bucky is a little annoyed with him. He laughs a little, he can’t help it. He likes messing around with Bucky like this.

“You came up to me first though, I guess I’m too irresistible for you huh? Come over? I have a busy schedule, I’ll tell my assistant.”

“Anyone ever tell you what a brat you are? Maybe I did come to you first but you agreed to get coffee with me and you’re spilling secrets like nobodies business.” Bucky points out. “I’d love a chance to put you in your place but those are things better served for private than in a public place like a coffee house.”

Bucky finishes his coffee, setting the cup down. “Johnny I know a little more about you than you think I do, and you’re just itching to come and see both me and Dayton. You said it yourself that you trusted us and wanted to show us something. Can’t do that if you’re too busy showing off your powers like some playboy that doesn't’ get enough attention.”

Johnny was taken back when Bucky basically told him that he was a brat and a playboy who doesn’t get enough attention? He’s been called many names, playboy included. Because he is. But attention seeking? A brat? He huffs out a breath. Angry, but interested.

“What’re you trying to do old man? You sound like a Russian prison guard. Is this how you flirt? And for your information, I show off because I’m proud of my powers.”

Johnny folds his arms across his chest. Put him in his place? What does that even mean? He watched Bucky closely.

“I’m not itching to go back to your lair and meet your boyfriend. I was just-“ Johnny stops, what’s he trying to say now? That he thought Bucky and Dayton are hot? I can take care of myself just fine. They mostly nag about what we have to do out there. Like recently some energy burst out and leave traces of it on the atmosphere, my job was too watch and measure its radiation. I did just that everyday but our dear mommy and daddy Fantastic had to sit with me and watch me do it.

"What did the energy brust do?" Bucky asks, leaning forward because it sounded interesting. "What is it exactly that you do?"

Johnny smiles because Bucky showed real interest in what happened. He leans forward and lowers his voice.

“From what I can tell, that energy burst isn’t just high in radiation but it can alter DNA. What I do? Think of an astronaut, but with powers and way hotter.”

"Yeah, I've heard of radiation changing DNA. Has yours changed? Got any powers that you know of?" Bucky asks, laughing softly. "Can't imagine what powers you would get."

“See we would know that if we got to it first. I think someone got to it and absorb it somehow. Because days after our observation it disappears into thin air.”

Johnny sighs, a little frustrated because that was an exciting project for him. He thought about the theories that they wrote down and discussed just for it to be tossed aside.

“I thought you already had powers, Mr Super Soldier.”

"That's interesting, I wonder if there would be a way to find out exactly what had happened and where it had gone." Bucky says.

He raises an eyebrow at Johnny. "I do have powers, doesn't mean I'm not interested in what others might have."

“I have hunch on who did it and it’s a multiple who.”

Johnny sits back a little and snap his finger. A flicker of fire appears between his finger.
