I love Princess and Perlah so much. I love how the first thing Perlah does when she loses Louie is look for Princess, how she waits for her when she sees she's busy. I love how Princess notices her, how the moment she's done she goes to her and asks her what's wrong because she could see that she needed her. I adore how she asks her in tagalog because this is an important conversation between them for no one else to be privy to.

Nah but the most realistic part of the episode was Ogilvie and Javadi arguing. Although he is written as such, he represents so many of the male medical (veterinary, but very similar) population I encounter day to day. Those men 9/10 times like to make their presence KNOWN, because they feel entitled to that space- even if it means bringing another student down, and they never hesitate when its a woman, nevertheless a POC. (Med students will rat each other out so fast)

His arrogance really shines through bc Javadi is clearly more experienced- and he still tries to one up her. He prob thinks very highly of himself prob bc he has a 4.0 gpa. (Javadi prob does also, but only brings it up when provoked, like the scene with Santos). And also.... hes a white man.

I like that the show isn't skipping around the fact that a lot of students in healthcare (and any professional program tbh) have a superiority complex, and arent afraid to bring down more down-to-earth students. Thats why diversity is so so important, not just in race and ethnicity but also economical background, non clinical work experience and any other non traditional students!!

I need someone to map out all the differences in the Santos/Ogilvie comparison they tried to make in episode 4. People thought it was insulting to Santos, when it's actually a really good study of the difference between their characters:

- he's currently MS4 while Santos was R1

- we see him laughing when Joy gets cut by the glass and not even checking in on her vs. Santos helping Whitaker with his fingernail and offering to help Gercia with the cut in her leg

- Ogilvie bumping into McKay and not saying sorry, vs Santos bumping into Garcia and apologizing (which was actually the thing that made Garcia notice her for the first time)

- Ogilvie pulling the glass out in front of his supervisors vs. Santos making a bad medical call when no one else was around to check in with her (and we do see her try to explain her thinking when there's someone around, like with Mohan and the Saline)

- Trying to look smarter by pointing out mistakes made by Whitaker and Javadi (med students are really not supposed to correct other med students btw), vs. taking the blame for Mohan hesitating to give the Saline while making herself seem stupid

- Ogilvie constantly asking to do an Intubation because he needs it for his procedures card vs. Santos repeated asks to do a Crike (she never explains why, but given her interest in surgery and her reaction to holding a beating heart, she probably just thinks it's extremely fucking cool lol)

(I'm sure there are more, but I'm pulling all of those from memory)
