is it just me, or did clownillustrations remove Wally's rizz before the final product was made?

Like, the difference between the concept art and finalized art is staggering to me.

(This isn't a bad thing btw, the reason why I made this post was because wally looks a lot more cutesy in the final product. If this was done on purpose then it was probably done to make him look like an irl puppet.)

I Know you’ve talked about the Day/Night dichotomy as a possible future theme—do you think it might also tie into the existential terror of being both a puppet (object) and a character (person)?

Like their days (episodes) are spent in town and interacting living and their nights are spent “asleep” non-sentient. And they’ve just had a very very long (50 years) night.

Maybe the restoration project is an attempt to save them from that?

(Also thinking about the recurring “I don’t see you” from Wally who knows about the audience but Tv is a one way format so he doesn’t see or hear you)

it could be! or perhaps through the website, wally has found a suitable replacement for daytime? the guestbook doodles do imply he regularly speaks to the other neighbors, somehow. still, a replacement is just that - a replacement. this new arrangement, whatever it is, doesn't seem to be very stable. there's no way to go back to that unknowing.

the presence of Us as the tenth neighbor is also very fascinating to me; something about the idea of a being who is a constant presence in someone's daily life that they never really process as anything out of the ordinary, even when their eyes refuse to see them at all. Until,

Hello welcome home fandom!

Just so you know if you decide to browse the welcome home website I HEAVILY recomend that you play the skeletal lamping album by Of Montreal as background music.

It is surprisingly fitting and an absolute vibe that adds to the expirience of browsing the website

Idk if this is weird but Barnaby seems more like a dad to Wally that a friend or love interest (mostly due to the teaching aspect of their relationship and Wally also seeming a bit childish/codependant by nature.)

Also not related but I just checked out the website and I think it's kinda funny how wally reacts to others talking about him, saying he likes himself when a compliment is given to him sometimes, getting upset when others don't s e e m to like him, and outright claiming that he is (or wants to be) the favorite out of the bunch.
