Romeo & Juliet AU; Juliet as a psychotic murderess who becomes obsessed with Romeo and kills him so that only she can love him forever.
Give me my Romeo; and, when he shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night
"I thought you were dead."

"What are you doing? No, stop!"
"Is that blood!? Oh god."
"What are you doing down here by yourself?"
"Where did these cuts come from?"
"There is a bullet in your arm! We need to get you to a hospital!"
"Oh my god. W-Wake up! Oh please wake up!"
"Hey, are you okay?"
"You know, you should have said something! You're lucky I was here."
"Oh god, you just almost died!"
"Look out!"
"Here, take my hand. Everything's fine. Just hold on to me and keep moving."
"Don't look down."
"Take my hand!"
"You're going to be fine. I promise."
"What the hell happened to you!?"
"Hold still. It hurts worse if you move."
"You idiot! What do you think you were doing out there!?"
"Don't move."
"Oh Jesus. It sliced right across your face. No wonder you can't see."
"Hold on. What's the matter with your leg?"
"You're lucky to be alive right now."
"Oh, god. I didn't sign up for this. _______, I'm not a doctor!"
"I thought you were dead."
"We are going to die."
"Run!"
"Can you stand? Are you okay? Are you even conscious?"
"________? ________, you need to get up right now. Can you do that?"
"You've got a blood stain on the back of your shirt, and I really hope it's not yours."
"My god, I thought you said you could swim! What you did right there is called drowning!"
"Why didn't you tell me you were hurt!?"
He wanted to blush at her words— no wonder Romeo had fallen in love so quickly, she was surely angelic! Mercutio practically wanted to thank her for joining their band; Romeo needed someone like her— he needed someone to care for him, since he had such a gentle soul most of the time. Surely he couldn’t survive peacefully with Benvolio’s nagging and Mercutio’s own teasing — so he was thankful his friend was living well & happy. “How I met———- How I met R O M E O?” He, unintentionally, laughed, at the thought. He leaned in, a grin on his face, and began to unwind his tale. “— You see, a- hem, I’m a kinsman to the Prince, & I was at one of his awfully uptight parties. All of that hand-shaking business — I h a t e those parties. ANYHOW. People from the house of Capulet & Montague had attended— avoiding each other like businessmen and rain, ‘tis true, but — and I spotted a younger Romeo. Oh, I have such an eye to pick out someone like him. He looked terribly lost. He had tied his tie wrong, his hair was disheveled, and he was staring off into space, looking like there was barely a thought in his head! So I approached him. We started to talk, and before I knew it, Romeo, Benvolio and I had banded together in our own little three musketeers!” He made a slashing movement with his hand, pretending to be holding a sword. After a moment, his hand lost its ‘grip’ on the imaginary sword as his fist opened. “Ahh, but how we’re growing now that you’re with us, Juliet. I’m proud to see you here. I’ll never see the Romeo I saw that night again, for you’re surely here to tie his ties and fix his hair.”
IT is an interesting tale, to be sure. Juliet finds it hard to imagine a Young Romeo--- lost, without that passion and fire in his eyes. it seems impossible. It isn’t RIGHT. She hangs on Mercutio’s words with all the curiosity of a child, eager to hear the stories of a Romeo she does not know. Romeo is different now, than the boy Mercutio describes; however there are some things that haven’t changed. She grins, almost impish. ❝Oh, he’s just awful at ties, isn’t he? A lost cause, that one is.❞ She only teases, naturally. Juliet doesn’t mind at all fixing his ties or his hair. Admittedly, though, she quite likes its unkempt disarray. There’s a boyish charm in it. ❝I’m so happy to be part if it all, really,❞ she says. It means a great deal to her that Mercutio approves of her. ❝I haven’t had the fortune of meeting Benvolio yet, but if he is a friend of you and Romeo then I have no doubts I will love him as if he were my own friend as well. I must admit, I’m grateful to you, Mercutio. I wish it were this easy with my cousin.❞ She almost sours at the thought of Tybalt, so passionate in his anger-- in his hate-- for Montagues. He should hate her with the same intensity, then. She is a MONTAGUE herself, now, after all.
haha it’s probably good that juliet never formally met mercutio bc she probably would have bawled like a baby when he died and that’s just more turmoil added to tybalt being dead and romeo banished. this poor child. she loves everyone.
❝ oh, my dear JULIET. tybalt may come to HARM. we’re from RIVAL houses. they’re like FIRE & ICE. i ensure that shall not let him RUIN us. not TODAY, nor TOMORROW, nor this LIFETIME. — there will come a TIME when he will try to HURT us BOTH.❞
❝YOU must not think of such things, sweet Romeo! Tybalt’s anger will cool, of this I am sure. I will make him see REASON.❞ Sweet and fair and terribly OPTIMISTIC, she is. It pains her to see Tybalt unhappy just as it pains her to see Romeo taking the brunt of her cousin’s OUTRAGE. Small hands curl around his back as her cheek presses to his chest, as much a comfort for him as it is for herself.
/frets whether or not i should be using poetic/shakespearean dialogue for modern verses too or just save it for canon verses ;;;;
O, ROMEO—— doff thy name! And for that name, which is no part of thee, take all myself!

❝YOU mustn’t let it bother you. Tybalt means well, but this was my decision and he’s simply going to have to get over it.❞
hie hence, be gone, away! it is the lark that sings so out of tune — Romeo & Juliet (2013)
i think r&j can be summed up p nicely with too many feels.
&&. HE LOVED HER ALREADY. A nervous smile turned into that of a friendly one, already becoming comfortable around the gentle girl. “No thank you— ah, so he does speak of you of me! Nothing bad, surely — ?” Who was he kidding? 100% of his stories with Romeo involved him acting insanely, so he didn’t mind it— he couldn’t avoid the truth spilling about him being rather zany. “And I’m sure you’d like to know when you two first met, ay me— he spoke like the most lovesick of puppies, always melting with that— ah, juliet, oh, juliet — talked our ears off about you, indeed. I’m glad to see my passionate friend settled down so nicely.” He purred happily, leaning up against the wall.
❝ONLY good things, I assure you. I’m glad to know that Romeo has such a caring and devoted friend.❞ She colours, roses blossoming in her cheeks at the mention of Romeo’s affections. Passionate, indeed. It was one of the many things that she loved so much about him. And wasn’t it one of the best facets of love? To be so consumed with feeling for another that it could not be contained? It’s the kind of fairytale she’d grown up reading in books and seeing in movies. To attain such an ending herself, she feels very lucky. ❝I should hope he hasn’t bored you too much with talks of me. I’m sure you’ve heard quite enough,❞ she laughs, gentle and modest. ❝You must tell me how you met Romeo, friend. Has he always been so passionate?❞
probably gonna use odette annable as an older!juliet. whose middle name also happens to be juliette. pfff.

He leaned in to Romeo’s room through the window as if entering through friend’s windows was a normal thing to do. “Looooooooover? I’ve been trying to conjure you for ‘round fifteen minutes and———” he stopped dead when he saw Juliet standing there, not doing much of anything. … Well, this is an extremely awkward way to meet a friend’s wife. He crouches and enters ungracefully through the window smiles awkwardly towards her. “Bonjouuur, wh — Juliet, is it? Ahh. Yeah, yeah, this is—” He runs a hand down his face. “This is. weird.” He offers a hand to her. “— Mercutio. is. my name, er, have you any clue where Romeo is?” He could never get used to them living together, he didn’t think, and it struck him hard— the fact he couldn’t just drop in anymore for fear of interrupting one of their dates.
SO this was Mercutio. Of course, Romeo had talked endlessly about him so in some ways Juliet felt as if she’d already met the man. She’d just been folding laundry, so she pauses, setting one of Romeo’s shirts aside to shake his hand. The fact he’d climbed through the window seems not to phase her. ❝Mercutio! Oh, Romeo’s told me quite a lot about you. It’s nice to finally meet you. I’m afraid he’s not here right now. Stepped out for a bit, actually. But you’re welcome to make yourself at home until he returns. Can I get you anything to drink?❞ She isn’t the least bit bothered that he’s dropped by, but that is just Juliet--- happy to embrace every part of Romeo’s life. His troubles are her troubles. His friends are her friends, and so on. If only Tybalt could be so agreeable.
