she had been in the mood for some very light drinking. the entertainment was high in the air tonight , but she had still been unaccustomed to the change in weather and the difference in time they've all suffered from upon their arrival. she felt she could just sleep , sleep , sleep the days away - and that was certainly no way to spend her adventure time in england. while her brother had made it clear it's not a precedent for her to secure a husband , xingwu had been enchanted by the idea of finding her one ture love at the ball - like maidens from the stories. however , given how everyone had behaved after a drink or two , she was beginning to think the ballroom was filled with tadpoles - calling them frogs would've been an insult --
to frogs.
sighing , xingxing took a sip of the red wine - quite a pleasant bouquet , she had to notice with a soft hum - and watched the pairs dancing in circles. pursing her lips as she observed them , the lady of hubei said to the person standing in her vicinity ; " this is a rather charming event , I must admit. do you know for how long it will last tonight ? my brother said something about long into the brink of dawn , but I'm not sure if he was being serious or just jesting. " she hoped he was jesting - she won't survive being up until dawn.
raising her eyebrows, cami hoped that what the girl said wasn't true. an event that lasted that long sounded not only dangerous, but frustrating. she didn't want to spend all night here. in fact, she had no idea what she would even do for that long. how could you even dance that much? her feet were already starting to hurt and she couldn't find anyone she knew anyway. even her twin was missing somewhere. the glass of alcohol in her hand wasn't doing its job, that was for sure. "the brink of dawn? you've got to be kidding." cami shook her head and laughed.
"what are you supposed to do at a party for that long?" she asked, looking around at the crowd. "usually when we have them back home, i wander off before i get tired. but i don't know enough about this place," she continued. but now, cami wondered if she was talking too much. would she bother this girl? would she want to disappear? now cami felt ridiculous. this was why she liked to hang out away from people. it was a whole lot easier.
