marriage   is   the   last   thing   that   the   duke   had   vowed   to   take   part   in.   full   resolve   to   not   marry   and   extend   the   park   family   line.   leaving   jeju   without   a   succession   line.   however   it   had   never   stopped   him   from   attending   the   events   that   often   led   other   to   getting   married.   he   just   always   avoids   the   talks   with   the   women   that   he   thinks   were   going   to   look   at   him   as   someone   to   court   them.   however   the   noblewoman   from   china   was   someone   that   he   had   been   friends   with   before   anything   else.   he'd   never   seen   her   as   someone   to   approach   him   with   the   thought   of   marriage   between   them.   that's   why   it   was   a   relief   as   he   came   across   the   familiar   face   in   the   room.   "fancy   seeing   you   here."   he   jests   in   his   approach   of   them.

in   years   past   tove   had   watched   all   of   her   siblings   go   through   the   stages   of   the   ton.   not   to   mention   the   ones   that   she   had   gone   through   herself   without   the   successful   marriage   match   happening.   this   year   is   entirely   different,   needing   to   secure   a   match   before   her   secret   was   revealed   to   everyone.   unsure   of   whether   that   would   be   with   the   one   that   put   her   into   the   predicament   or   if   she   could   settle   with   someone   else.   not   that   she   wanted   to   trick   someone   into   being   the   father   of   her   child.

standing   next   to   the   refreshment   table   as   they   surveyed   the   people   in   the   room   with   them.   a   soft   smile   gracing   her   face   as   another   approaches.   "are   you   enjoying   the   night?"   she   asks   the   other,   turning   to   face   them.

his   return   to   london   for   the   ton   wasn't   entirely   surprising.   with   his   father's   passing   it's   likely   to   come   that   he   would   be   taking   the   throne   in   denmark.   with   that   it   meant   that   it   was   time   for   theseus   to   become   serious   about   marriage.   though   he   was   sure   that   he   was   not   the   only   one   that   was   set   on   being   married   by   the   end   of   the   season.   or   at   least   engaged   to   be   wed.

"you   look   like   you   are   lost   in   thought."   he   comments   as   he   turns   to   face   the   king.   a   familiar   face   to   the   crown   prince.   the   other   once   holding   the   same   title   before   he   took   to   the   english   throne.   "perhaps   a   conversation   is   long   over   due   friend."
