December sighed, standing in the Starbucks line. There was a couple people behind and a couple people in front of them. “I don’t understand how it takes so long to order a cup of coffee. Some people have things to do,” they mumbled to themself, a hand of their hip as they waited.

. Unsurprising. She’d follow them like a little puppy all day if she could. “This place is always so understaffed at this time, it’s the same every day. Some days, I want to just call the owner so they’d give more shifts at that time.”

“I’ve had no luck with finding one so far. Hopefully, one day they’ll mature from dick picks and one night stands and be ready for commitment. Until then, I’ll just focus on work and care less about guys.” Haley said, a small shrug shaking her shoulders. “I guess unless you actually decide on a date with him, it’ll remain a mystery. Not that I’m suggesting you should go on a date with him. That'd be risky”

“First round’s on me,” Parker said, approaching slowly toward the bar. “We’re celebrating. Happy fucking birthday, Keith the Poodle.” He slowly slid open his jacket to reveal the solid black curly-haired miniature poodle he’d been taking care of for the last year since he and his girlfriend broke up, whose name was not Keith but Charlie. “Keith here, who is going to get a single pint of none other than Alexander Keith’s Nova Scotia Style Pale Ale for his third birthday, is ready to fucking party. Everybody put their paws up,” he said, lifting the single paw Parker could reach for under his jacket, before slipping him back inside again. “Seriously though, beer or liquor tonight?”

That was something she’d never do. Not that she never went to a bar, of course she did. But she never went to a bar alone. And it was rather... uncomfortable. Too many people, the smell of alcohol way too strong, and people pushing her even though she was sat on a stool. She didn’t really notice the other at first, Haley was way too concentrated on finishing that drink and getting away from this place. But his speech got her attention, a deep frown formed on her eyebrows when she spotted the dog. “I’m not sure what’s worst here. That you brought a dog in a bar, or that you’re trying to get alcohol for that dog?”

I thought it was really sweet that somebody sees me as date material but then I saw the picture attached in the email. It was a picture of his dick and I do not know what to think anymore.”

“A dick pick? Seriously? Gosh, guys nowadays only think about on thing, it’s almost disgusting. Well, it is disgusting, and quite uncomfortable when you open that in front of people. Although it does make me wonder what his actual face looks like. Either he’s really ugly and has no self confidence, or he’s super cute and really all he wants is a quick fuck.”

“Well it did make me become more big headed than I need, so thanks.” She replied chuckling. Her face brightened at the idea. “Why not? Did we exchange names? If so sorry its kinda the drain brain. I’m Andy, and I would love to get a salad and help you find a new meaning in binge watching.”

“You’re not truly big headed if you can still have a nice conversation with other people.” She commented, hand raising up for a handshake. “I’m pretty sure we didn’t. I’m Haley, and I would love to learn a new meaning of binge watching, since that is practically my life right now when I’m not working.”

“It’s been like what? Half a year since graduating? And I still feel mentally tortured by that captain. And by that, I also mean physically.” Haley said, finger playing with the straw, twirling it around her strawberry smoothie. “I kinda wish someone would have taken her down back then, ruined her reputation so badly she’d have to quit and move to another country. Know what I mean?” She asked, raising her eyebrows towards Pearl, before taking a long, needed sip from her drink. Haley was never much of a coffee or tea person, but she’d kill for a smoothie. It was the only thing that could keep her on the right track when she was feeling down. “Do you think it’d still be interesting to destroy her now? Even if we don’t have anything t do with her anymore? It’d just be a way to... kill my demons, I guess. At least on of them.”
