☆゚*·゚WITH A NAME like Halley, of course she had a love for the stars and all kinds of constellations. Because of this obsession, the redheaded got herself in some incredibly sticky situations, including the one today. It'd just gotten dark, and there weren't all that many cars on the rode, so Halley decided it was the perfect time to work with her stargazing notebook. This was how she was splayed out in the middle of the damn street, with a notebook rested on the asphalt and purple, blue, and pink colored pencils next to her. She hadn't expected anyone to be around, and as a result, the sass was remarkable. "You're blocking my moonlight and if these colors are off, you'll be hearing from the constellations and trust me, you don't want to piss them off."
Alice smiled at the stranger, Wendy was normally a very sweet girl, but by this time they were at home already. "Sure, you can check, but she's just moody I didn't take her home." She already felt like a crap mom, the last thing she needed it was a stranger to think she was ignoring a sick girl. "I'm Alice, and this is Wendy, normally her aunt picks her up from school, but I picked her up today, and she just wants to spend time with her aunt, unfortunately, her aunt is not around." The fact that Wendy's aunt was now her grandmother.
☆゚*·゚HALLEY BENT DOWN to look at the small child, wiggling her fingers. She gently placed her hand on the baby's forehead, just to make sure that she wasn't hot. "Awwww, someone's not enjoying the sunshine today, huh?" A soft smile rested across her face as she lightly placed her thumbs on the baby's cheeks, just to be sure she was alright. "It's nice to meet you, Alice, and you, little Wendy," she started, tickling the baby's stomach. "I'm Halley and she's definitely not sick. I'm sorry that she's not happy. Are there any other things that usually make her smile?" Sitting down next to the two of them, she couldn't help but watch the adorable baby.
☆゚*·゚FRIENDS WERE INCREDIBLY important for Halley to have. She needed people to pull her out of her nurse life, and remind her that there was more to life than working all the time. When she'd texted Collins to meet her for lunch, Halley decided she wanted something a little more fun and exciting. She needed to get away from the hospital as much as possible. That resulted in picking up food from hers and Collins' favorite restaurant and laying a double size large blanket out on the beach. When she saw her friend walk up to her, her smile reached her ears. "Hey cutie! I thought we could sit by the water! I've got to get far away from that hospital! And, I picked up our favorite! Girls day, ya know?"
"Best out of three?" Major asked, racking the balls in the triangular frame at the foot of the pool table. He wasn't ready to admit defeat yet—despite having already lost the previous two games. "We can even make it interesting," He rounded the table, buffing his pool stick with the blue chalk. "Winner picks the next bar, loser pays the tab." ( 4 / 6 ) @aurorabaystarter
☆゚*·゚AFTER A LONG day, or rather few days, as she'd gotten stuck working almost 96 hours with only short naps in between, Halley found she couldn't sleep. Her first instinct was to head to the bar, to try and get just drunk enough that it'd help her sleep. Somehow, the redhead managed to find herself in a pool game. On sleep, Halley was terrible at pool, but completely and utterly sleep deprived, she was laser focused. "Out of three? As in you want to spend even more time losing? You're on." Halley laughed lightly, leaning up against the table. "I like that bet. I needed this night out. Ready to lose, pretty boy?" Halley asked, gesturing towards the balls. "You break."
The weather that morning is hot, though not stifling, as to drags on towards nine a.m. Samuel takes advantage of the low lying sun before it climbs the skies by taking to watering any of the plants and flowers in pots outside the front of the shop. The hose mists in the slight ocean breeze then, cooling in a sense, but he does recognize this is nothing compared to South Carolina and the humidity of Charleston. He is in the middle of finishing the petunias when he here's a voice and turns, almost spraying the poor person with some water before he lets go of the handle.
"Oh, sorry! Sorry… I was in my head. I didn't get you wet, did I?"
☆゚*·゚IF YOU KNEW Halley, you would know that plants and flowers reminded her of her dads. As a kid, she spent countless days out in the gardens, completely covered in dirt, tending to all sorts of flowers. Now, as an adult, she was interested in acquiring some of the most beautiful plants for her collections. Her balcony flowers were in need of a few friends, so what better place to stop than the flower shop. Opening the door, the redhead couldn't help but smile at how not only wonderful it smelled, but looked in this shop. Halley wasn't paying attention to anything else around her except the plants in front of her. As a result, she jumped slightly, upon hearing someone's voice, not even realizing that he might've almost sprayed her with water. "Oh gosh no! I didn't even see you there. I was distracted by the aura in here. It's so beautiful," Halley explained. "I was just looking for some new plants and I think part of my brain shut off," she stated, chuckling.

"took your sweet time." leaning against her off-white jeep, constance pulls off her dark sun glasses and flicks back her hair. she taps her long nails to a rhythmic pattern on the door handle, watching the individual step out of the building towards the car. connie was never known to be a patient person, you were either early or on time for her, but today she'd grant an exception — this time. "when i offered to give you a lift, i meant seven sharp. i'm no uber, i don't wait around for five minutes." slipping back into the drivers seat, she reaches up to adjust the rear view mirror. "belt on."
☆゚*·゚HALLEY HOPPED INTO the car, throwing her hands up in defense. "Do you want me to just say sorry, or do you want to hear the whole disgusting story?" she asked, laughing lightly, putting her belt on, before turning and looking at Connie. At the moment, her car was in the shop for some strange noises, and she really had no idea what the matter with it was. So, she was very thankful to be picked up after a long day.
She picks her daughter from pre-school and now Wendy wouldn't stop crying and Alice was getting out of ideas. "Please, stop" Alice begged as she sat down on a bench to give Wendo her full attention. "Are you hungry? thirsty? You want your favorite toy?" She said, trying to distract her with all the things she brought even knowing that she wanted to go home and spend time with Lilah, but Alice didn't want to go home, and the fact that she didn't know how to make her daughter stop crying was making her feel like a terrible mother. "Please stop crying, my love. I will give you a thousand dollars if you stop crying." Maybe that might work when she was older, but right now it didn't.
☆゚*·゚AFTER A LONG week of patients driving her up a wall, Halley liked to spend time just wandering around, enjoying all of the sunshine. She couldn't tell you where she ended up or how she ended up where she was, but she'd find her way back home eventually. The sunshine was very important that day. On her walk, she heard a small baby crying, and instantly went into protective nurse mode. Running towards the sound, she saw a woman struggling to stop the poor crying baby. Halley stopped in front of them, pouting lightly. "Oh cutie, what's the matter? Sorry, I'm a nurse, do you mind if I just check and make sure she's not sick or anything?"

tw drugs, tw panic attacks, tw anxiety
Halley was born to a mother that simply couldn't take care of her. With a mother addicted to drugs, life was difficult. After finding out she was pregnant, she went to rehab, got her act together, and had Halley happily in the rehab center, but the minute she got out, she went right back to her old ways. In fact, when she was born, her name wasn't even Halley. She couldn't tell you today what it was, and she didn't want to ever know. Before her first birthday, she was put into foster care, a life that no little baby should have to deal with. A young gay couple received their adoption papers signed and approved only a few weeks earlier when they got a call about Halley. At the time, the orphanage wasn't calling her by a name, she was just "Baby X". They hadn't felt the need to keep the mother's choice for the name, as she'd only decided on it after she'd gone back under the wagon.
The two men, Brian and Camden Cooper had been married for three years at this point, and dreamed of having a child of their own. They'd hoped for a kid with red or dark brown hair, to match either one of them. When they heard about Halley, they couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet her. Her bright red hair matched Camden's perfectly and she had Brian's eyes. It was a perfect match. They rushed to the orphanage to meet her and she instantly took to them, not wanting them to leave. After they did, she cried and cried, and cried. After what felt like months, Brian and Camden adopted Halley and brought her into their home. Both of them met and bonded over their mutual love of astronomy and the stars, so they couldn't help themselves and named her Halley, after Halley's comet. She was the absolute apple of their eye.
Halley grew up loving both her dads. She knew nothing else. Even when they told her about her past, she refused to listen. She had no desire to know. During school, she was an excellent student, always wanting to help everyone, feeling really protective almost instantly. But that was a problem in itself. Because of her protective nature, sometimes, her anger and sass would get the best of her. She was always the one to instigate a fight because someone said something rude to one of her friends, or even to a random stranger in the hallway. This very quickly became a problem, resulting in her dads having to come into school often to deal with her behavior. Halley never meant to hurt anyone, and never did. It was always her words that hurt others. She was just trying to take care of people close to her. School from then on became a struggle. She was given accommodations for classes, and tests, because she'd get incredibly frustrated easily, lashing out, at either the test, or herself, causing her to cry and have full blown panic attacks. Halley hated being limited in her abilities and being told she might be just a little bit different.
Despite the stress that school then began to cause her, Halley made it through with grades no one expected her to. She went to medical school, became a nurse, and never looked back. This way, she could help people and if any patients got out of line, she'd been given permission to be the one they send in to help. Halley adored it. Life was good.
Because of her fathers, she has a fondness for space too, and probably knows way too much of it.
Personality: Halley is a good friend, really. She's very kind and protective of you if she likes you. But she's got a bit of a temper, and is known to get very quickly frustrated if things bother her. Her fathers tease her about it and say that it's because of her fire red hair. She's trying to work on it, and constantly has fidget toys in her pockets, in her car, and all around her apartment in case she starts to feel anxious in any way. Because of things like this, she's very big into comfort, and loves any kind of physical touch that she can get. Hugs, hand holding, small little things, people playing with her hair. She can't get enough of it. Her apartment is full of fuzzy, soft things, and anything squishy. Even her bed is full of stuffed animals and squishmallows. Halley just needs comfort and soft kindness, or like her fathers again tease, she'll explode into a meteor.
Wanted Connections:
Ex: One that just couldn't tolerate her attitude
The One That Got Away: This is the ex that could actually keep her calm, and help her out when she was stressed, but for whatever reason, they broke up, and it hurts her, so much. She still probably has feelings for them.
Best Friends: Friends that despite her anger and anxiety, still love the hell out of her and would do anything for her.
