Sid eyed her carefully. The Dark stare was impassible as an iceburg, though no where near as cold. His face, however, was stoic and unreadable.  She was going to be hard work and he knew that in his bones. She held herself well, long neck straight and body still and statuesque. She was very pretty, but sometimes pretty didn’t make up for a piss poor attitude. “Helena.” He repeated her name and liked the way it sounded in his accent, still New York thick after all this time. “Yeah, you are.” he said simply. He hadn’t moved, thick arms still crossed over his chest, head bent slightly on his neck to look at her. “You’re mine to look after an keep safe.” he arched an eyebrow at her “So please don’t do anything stupid, because i really don’t want to be cleaning up a mess you made.” he smirked at her “You look smart though, so im tempted to trust that you can be a big girl and keep out of trouble, yeah?” he said.  “You’ll be staying with me.” he said, by was of answering. Sid took a step closer, big body crowding her space. He didn’t touch her though. Not yet. He didn’t dare to do that yet. It was funny…he had no problem teasing and taunting the other women on the Island, half lidded glances and fleeting touches were nothing to him. Yet he kept his hands to himself with this one and tried his best to be fucking respectful.  “You have a room here, it’s not much but its clean and has a bathroom attached.” He stepped to the side to allow her to see the corridor he had come down. He gestured laxly up the hallway “You wanna see?” he said simply and without intent.

helena wasn’t shy about touch or personal space. the way sid spoke of her made her skin crawl and a forced smile flit across her lips. she stepped forward to meet his advance, her voice was still calm when she spoke. she thought about mentioning the way his condescension got under her skin to him, but she didn’t know this man. she had to protect herself first and foremost. no use getting injured unnecessarily.  ❛ sure. i think you’ll find that i can keep myself safe, though. ❜  helena hated how people assumed she needed protection. her parents assumed it. her brother assumed it. her royal court. and now him. 

as for trouble, helena had a certain brand of trouble that she ended up usually getting into. usually by sticking her neck out into dangerous situations to protect others. helena couldn’t promise that she wouldn’t do that, so she made no mention of it.

more politician than princess, that is one way to describe helena nowakowski.

helena is a woman who knows what she wants and how she will get it. she is a woman who, despite not being a crown princess, will fully immerse herself in her country’s politics and affairs to better help her people. she will challenge men and women to be better and to do better.

think princess leia. that’s kind of how helena is. 

helena is a younger sister. a daughter. someone who sees the stars at night and dreams of traveling the world. 

helena is a captive. she’s sure her family knows where she is and is worried-- but it wouldn’t be strategic to barge in on a rescue mission, despite how much they want to. 

so she’s waiting and biding her time. perhaps she can try and create a peace treaty between royalty and pirates. who knows? 

what she’s not going to do is sit around and wallow in fear.

His hand was still gripped into his locks when he walked toward her. “Princess.” he said, nodding his head at her, the smirk he wore on his face was coy and challenging. She was tall, though no where near his 6′4. Sid stopped an arms length away from her and stared, shamelessly drinking her in from the soft black of her hair, to the pale of her eyes and skin. She contrasted herself, he thought. An odd thing to come to mind at a time like this. “They told me you were from Poland.” he continued, folding thick arms across a thicker chest “-but they didn’t me a name.” He arched an eyebrow at her “You got one?”
