MATTE ALL THE FLAKIES

There are several things that made this mani awesome.

🔆To create the subtle pink #gradient, I used Hi, It's Me Stan from @bravesdivapolish and Moon Swoon White from Cosmetic Arts.

🔆I added a multichrome flakie top coat.

🔆I stamped over it using Yoga Pants from @dripdropnailpaint and I used the Dress Your Nails 01 plate from @linanailartsupplies.

🔆I am kinda obsessed with matte nails right now and I was sent a matte top coat from @savannahlacquer, to swatch/review. This is my favorite matte top coat.

And you MUST MATTE ALL THE FLAKIES!!

Polish Con Chicago 2017

If you didn't get to go to Polish Con Chicago 2017, you can still buy a few of the LE's and Collab polishes. Missi Barry of Different Dimension created a collab polish for me, called That Toddling Town. It is a Vampy, 1920's gangster burgundy, with holo flakies. Missi also created another collab polish called Let's Not Mintion It with Letti (www.Instagram.com/lettslooks_). It is a minty blue cream with pink shimmer. There are LE's available, too. Where You Bean is a multichrome in a blue base that shifts pink/green/gold. And In The Loop is an olivey gold polish with pink shimmer (my fave of the 2 LE's). For all polishes, I used 2 coats plus a QDTC. They apply smoothly and evenly. I was contacted by Maggie from @beautybigbangnail @Beautybigbang,to review their Aurora powder. The powder seen here is the "blue" option ( product #J2854-1C). I also received the black peel off base coat (product #J2449-1C). . The black peel off base coat is intensely pigmented and I only used 1 coat, for full opacity. It applied evenly. The polish is a 6.0 mL bottle, but a little goes a long way. . I used a thin layer of #yellowstopper over the black to burninsh in the powder. I used the eyeshadow applicator that was included, for the initial layer of powder. Then I used my finger tip for another layer. The powder applied easily and was not streaky. . I brushed off excess powder with a fan brush, then used a coat of Finger Paint's Peel Off Base Coat. I allowed it to completely dry, then finished it with a coat of Salon Perfect's Crystal Clear QDTC. . If you have read this far...my powder did not blow apart and looks AH-MAZING! I also used a white base for my middle and ring fingers and the powder made it have the opalescent glow, that is so popular. .

Review of Let's Doodle 01 stamping plate, from Lina Nailart Supplies. Flawless so far.

Sexy red mani tonight. I used Color Club’s Cadillac Red for my base color. The stamping plate is You’re A Damasque 01, from Lina Nailart Supplies and I used my new clear stamper from PurJoi Nail Studio. It picks up all details from plates flawlessly. My stamping polishes are Darkest Black from Meijer Stores, Studio M line. The silver is from Wal-Mart P2 Polish, called 010 Steel Drama.

About 3 years ago, my daughter said to me,"mom, I want all of my nails to be different, but match." Then she showed me some nail art accounts on Tumblr. I didn't have Tumblr, but I had IG. I started searching nailart, stumbled upon indie nailpolish, and I was hooked. There isn't a lot about me, that I would consider exceptional in any way. But my nails are a different story. I inherited my nails from my Granny Collins. I knew I could grow out my nails, and I could decorate a cake, so why not decorate my nails? And here I am today, wearing one of the very first, indie polishes that I bought. This is called Shift Happens, made by Pam Heil of Girly Bits Cosmetics ( www.girlybitscosmetics.com). Fast forward to today. All I've heard about lately is Unicorn Pee. How magical it is. How hard it is to find. I just didn't understand it, until I read a description of it. It is a red,gold,green, shifting glitter. Guess what Shift Happens is??? I have literally owned this Unicorn for 3 years and just realized it last night.

This gorgeous, shimmery nailpolish is Native War Paint’s POTM, for February 2017. Link to their site, is in the bio of their IG page: www.instagram.com/nativewarpaints It is available for purchase right now, for $9.00/bottle. Check out my last post, to see my swatch video. February 2017 is a dark blue, leaning purple jelly, with green shimmer. As with all of Amanda’s polish, the formula is smooth. This polish needs 2 coats for opacity. I used a QDTC (quick dry top coat). This polish dries to a satiny finish, without a top coat. If you are curious about indie nailpolish, this is a good opportunity to try it. Native War Paints is very reputable and all polishes are very versatile for nail art.
