꒰⠀⠀⠀⠀paris berelc.   twenty-five.   cis woman.   she/her.⠀⠀⠀⠀꒱        hold your f*** horses !  ivy santos has just been spotted walking into revolution headquarters. they are best known for being the   drummer   in   kalopsia   and have been signed with the label for   two years.   they share a lot of interesting things about life in the music industry on their social media, so make sure you don’t forget to follow them at   @eyevee.  fans know them for being   erratic  but i swear they’ve got a   confident   side as well. maybe that explains why they’re always associated with  perfectly done winged eyeliner, watching the sunrise on the roof of a parking garage after a night out,  a string of white fairy lights hung up for the vibe.   stan twitter even voted them most likely to   try to fight the biggest guy at the bar .   we’ll see how they live up to that reputation.

the session was over - long over. in fact, it had been over 2 hours now; leilani holding ivy as a sort of hostage to run some new beats by. to the brunette, there was something missing and she couldn’t pinpoint what it exactly was. the root of the dilemma then evolving into the young woman fiddling with the beats on the macbook as she had ivy play some random beats. judging by the look on the other’s face, she could tell they were due to throw in the towel. but this was leilani - she never knew when to throw her hands up. “oh, oh! but what if it was like: boom tsk tsk bum baaa-tska ba?” her eyes lighting up, though as she played it back, the sound coming from her macbook wasn’t exactly lining up the way she had hoped. groaning, she threw her head back. “just leave me here to die…” the overly dramatic aspect of her personality oozing out, pulling her hood up and over her head to the point it covered her face. ivy knew better, and it was evident in the way she utilized the word ‘fun’. leilani instantly jumped up from her huddled position on the couch. “hey! you can’t have fun without the fun king!” she gestured to herself via her open hands, a smile threatening the corner of her lips. “where were you planning on going?”

“did you ever think that maybe, just possibly, that by overworking that noggin of yours it’s going to make it harder to find what we’re looking for?” ivy teased, stepping forward to pat the top of leilani’s hooded head. ivy was certainly passionate when it came to making the band everything it could be, but that seemed to be rivaled today by her bandmate. at this point, ivy was just ready to get out before all of the good stuff to do was too full or gone. “we can revisit this tomorrow when our brains are fresh, and who knows, maybe we’ll find something to inspire us while we’re out! but for nowwww...” she trailed off, moving over to reach for leilani’s hands to pull her off the couch, a simple movement to push her away from the work they had been doing. “leilani, my sweet summer child, when have i ever once had a plan? we go where the night takes us! it’s more fun that way, you never know who or what you may come across.”

ever since coming back from tour, ivy had fallen into a sort of routine for her evenings when she wasn’t working late with something kalopsia related. she’d work during the day on the music, do any sort of promo content she had been tasked with making for the band’s social media, and then when the evening rolled around, she’d be headed out for the night to seek out whatever source of entertainment she could find to occupy her time. it had built a reputation for her but she wasn’t complaining, she’d feed into it more if that’s what the people wanted. like clockwork, she was ready to go, fixing the strand of hair that just wouldn’t cooperate as she leaned against the door frame. with a raise of her eyebrow, she looked at the other with a grin. “so, are you coming out with me tonight or am i going to have to have all the fun myself?”

on most nights around this time, ivy was usually out, seeking out whatever sense of adrenaline she could find for the night. it was a fun game each night, and she almost always found a new thing to do every night. however, tonight was proving to be different, and she had been enjoying the quiet that came with sitting alone in one of the practice rooms. she had been perched in a corner of the room, back on the ground and legs straight up against the wall when she heard the door open, and she shifted her head slightly to see who was interrupting the quiet. “nah, don’t worry about it. i’ve fully taken advantage of the room and haven’t touched a single instrument in three hours,” she turned over, sitting right-side up again. “happy to help. watcha got?”

               ‘  i’m  at  a  point  where  i’m  about  to  take  this  whole  notebook  and  set  it  on  fire  .  ’   the  frustration  she  feels  is  clear  as  day  in  her  tone  of  voice  ,  the  notebook  in  question  being  tossed  carelessly  on  the  floor  in  front  of  her  .  writing  usually  never  gave  them  this  much  difficulty  but  in  the  last  couple  of  weeks  ,  only  one  song  had  been  written  and  that  surely  wasn’t  enough  to  fill  up  an  entire  album  .  she  groans  ,  head  against  the  wall  as  their  legs  slide  out  in  front  of  them  .  ‘please  tell  me  you  have  tips  for  getting  over  writers  block  because  i  am  struggling  .  ’    / @revolutionstart​

“never, usually just ride it out until some spark of inspiration slaps me in the face,” ivy admitted, head moving as she watched the notebook fly. in all fairness, ivy wasn’t usually the go-to lyricist of her band, considering she didn’t even have to deal with melodies let alone lyrics. she much preferred to let the others write and she’d be down to keep the beat needed to set the vibes of the music when it was time. “it’s probably for the best though.” she shrugged, eyes going back aera. “last time i tried to write for the band it was probably the worst thing you’ve ever read. absolute garbage.”
