NATASHA ROMANOFF ➝ ofgirlsandwolves
natasha gave the girl a tight-lipped smile, happy to amuse her and to continue to remain a stranger with a kind, listening ear. when she asked what sort of work that she did, nat raised a brow before giving a frown and then shrugging, “real estate,” and just like that, just as the words escaped her lips, natasha had lived a life as a real estate agent. still, karolina’s naivety was sweet, she was hopeful, she had optimism - something natasha wish she’d had more of. “the planet is peaceful, some people like me, we don’t trust peaceful.” she shrugged, giving a small smile. “your girlfriend sounds sweet.”
there was no reason to doubt the other woman as she entertained karolina with small talk, encouraging her more easily social nature. if it was up to her, she’d befriend the entire planet while she had the opportunity. “really? you probably got to meet interesting people doing that. at least – different people. my parents ran a sort-of church so it was just always the same people all the time.” she explained, attempting not to visibly cringe at the mention of her parents. at her age, though, it was her best chance to relate. the blonde offered a nod at her explanation. “thanks – and, i get it – i mean, i know what it’s like to think everything is perfect and then it’s ... suddenly not. i guess i just don’t want to take whatever peaceful time we have for granted, you know? not that that’s what you’re doing – i didn’t mean – you seem really nice, by the way.”
