she was a complicated one, he could feel it as he tried to make her root through her mind for a secret only the devil could make use of – mental defenses that only someone particularly skilled in lying could be capable of. when she answered he found himself pleasantly surprised, unable to determine whether or not she was lying – but the better chance was that she was. after decker, he didn’t trust his powers to be bulletproof.
he cocked his head and narrowed his eyes – celestial being, perhaps? likely not. possibly not even from the same universe. a miracle? DAD, no. “clever minx,” lucifer said quietly, mostly to himself, and glanced down at her neatly placed hand on his leg. she didn’t quiet leave him speechless – he doubted there was a force in any universe that could do that – but still, he was impressed and delighted. and best of all, excited.
“well, luckily for you,” lucifer said, leaning forward until their noses nearly touched, “i happen to be the life of this particular party, and i do hope you’re having fun.” he was happy to see that LUX still held all the charm and thrill that it did on earth, even without three brittanies. one red-haired, stunning, especially skilled liar was worth much, much more than that anyway. “lucifer morningstar,” he said, grinning, “lightbringer, prince of darkness, the devil himself. sound like a good time?”
natasha could tell within the very moment of their meeting that the man she’d chosen to pointedly play with was reading her as best as he could, trying to find the best way to make her unravel and... oh, he wasn’t one who wasn’t used to getting his way. she raised both her brows and took another sip of his drink when he called her a clever minx.
she’d been called worse, much worse - so this? this was a compliment. bringing her face back up, she leaned just that much further and touched the tip of her nose to his. “i think i could find some more sources of fun if you’re up for it?” she asked, smirking at him and arching her brow just a little bit higher. “lucifer morningstar?” she repeated, tasting the way his name curled around on her tongue. “you know in russia, some people would practice magic to call upon the devil for matters in their bedroom.” she gave him a sly smile.
“something tells me that i’ll have all of that magic from you.” giving him a small head tilt, nat leaned forward, bringing her hand up and hooking it around his neck, pulling him close. “do you want to know my name?” she whispered, her eyes open, brushing her eyelashes against his skin. “it’s a secret.” she closed her eyes, bringing her lips to his and sealing him into a kiss.
