Sitting behind a desk all day or in front of a class, it did sometimes bring him joy. The way he was able to pass on his wisdom to the young minds creating the future. Anthony walked with pride as he exited the school building for the day. It just seemed like an easy day. Well, easier than most. As he hurried down the steps, he looked around for a moment. It was still such a weird thing to be a normal person for once. Sort of living out in the world incognito. It gave him a chance to figure everything out once more.
As he began walking down the street, he just stood for a moment and listened to the sounds. It was still a bit odd to see so many buildings in one place. Back in his time, it was more open and freeing. Now, it was all metropolitan. Shaking his head, he sighed happily moving forward.
As he moved towards a park, he chose to take a moment and just enjoy life. Not like he had much choice. He saw a bench with someone sitting on it. Being unkind or unfriendly wasn’t exactly part of his nature, so he just walked up to the bench and man and spoke. “Mind if I sit here?”
Patrick was writing in the park. He liked to write stories and poems when he wasn’t working or working out. Part of being the god of longing and yearning was that most of his stories and poems were about lovers who wanted to be together. He was deep in a storm that he was able to remember from back in Greece but making it out to take place in this modern age. He heard the sounds of someone walking up and looked up just as he heard the voice. He offered a smile and a nod. “By all means, I’d more than welcome the company,” he said, putting his pen down in the notebook.
“What brings you to this lovely park?” he asked looking around. While he was not totally sure if this was Athena or not he didn’t want to assume too much. He hadn’t found too many of his fellow gods yet. But he had heard they were all there. Still he held onto the hope that they would all find each other and try to figure out how to get back to who they were before. Yearning, even if it wasn’t sexual he felt it. He yearned for his old life. “Do you enjoy bird watching?”
