you could tell okoye was really torn when nakia came to try and get her to help them. because okoye is sworn to protect the throne, and serve the throne. aiding in a rebellion is not protecting the throne, but putting it in danger. yet at the same time, she knows erik is not a fit king and will destroy all that wakanda stands for. it broke her having to say no, having to stay despite her heart wanting to help the others. because tchalla was someone she loved dearly and believing he was dead, seeing him “die” had really ripped her apart. but still, okoye’s heart always remains loyal to the throne.
