Since I have decided to incorporate double shading (shading in the usual areas and then more shading in the more hidden/covered areas, if that makes sense) into all my art from now on, the last few days I went ahead and upgraded all currently online pages for Of Plights and Honor, Kylie’s and my wolf comic
I finished page 8 tonight, then tomorrow I’ll be resizing and saving the pages for Tapastic, DA/FA, and Tumblr. I probably won’t reupload them until Friday though because I’m trying not to burn myself out with artwork since I want to be ready to color our final 2 comms once I have the files (and I have a lot of urls to open and re-logging into my FA account to deal with and yeah)
My next step for OPAH is to ink the ref sheets and spruce them up a bit. I may do some speed videos of them, but idk yet
Since I rarely come here except mostly on mobile, I forget to bring up news here about future things that I’ve discussed on my twitter lmao
Anyways, as many of you (probably) know, my fried @loboscloverpatch and I create a wolf comic called Of Plights and Honor where our two main characters have a pack and 1 enemy with cameo characters from other artists/OC creators. This means we would not be able to make a profit from working on said comic because it’d require compensation for the cameo people that we might not be able to get monetary gain for anyway (we don’t really have a lot of viewers on Tapastic or here, so I don’t see it sellable even if we could compensate the cameo people) Not only that, but this was also kind of a test run to see how well Kylie and I work together with a big project like this one. So far, we have enjoyed the work we have done, so I wanted to see about making another comic with her one day, tho it was entirely up to her since she’s the main artist who can draw animal anatomy well (her background skills are flipping fantastic too!)
Well we have decided to do just that and come up with a 100% original new comic that we could make a profit on eventually (tho it’d still be viewable for free online (I think Tapastic pays the artists via advertisements, but I’m not 100% sure on that?)) There is no telling when we’d start making actual pages (we kinda need to finish OPAH first heh) but I will say this: we have started brainstorming out our idea. To avoid giving too much away, I will say that it’ll be Apocalyptic themed, have anthro and feral animal OCs known as Animalia (the anthro animals only) and the title is The Point of No Return
At the moment I am trying to write the storyline (while adding panel descriptions that I’ve already thought up to help Kylie with visualization) and we’re both trying to come up with the characters. So far we have only partly-finished OCs, but we have a good start on our main characters (most have species, gender, and relations, but designs and clothing is only a small percentage done) We also have to discuss the fictional planet that the Animalia live on and hopefully we can come up with a map/atlas type thing to correspond with everything down the road
Do we have a long way to go before we can start cranking out pages? Absolutely, because this comic is going to (hopefully) be a long and good one, but we are already getting a nice headstart on it all, its only a matter of time until we have all of our ideas out on paper. In the meantime, I plan to try and keep everyone informed about progress as we create our characters and the story. So far I have started a private document with Kylie on each chapter with how many pages and panels they will have. I only have the prologue (chapter 0) finished and am getting a start on chapter 1 already. It’ll take us a while before we have exact page numbers per chapter and how many panels total for each, since I can only make my own panel descriptions intermingled with the storyline so much, but everyone will be informed when changes occur

Of Plights and Honor Updates
I figured it was time to post an update when it comes to @loboscloverpatch and my wolf comic Of Plights and Honor on Tumblr, DA, FA, and Tapastic since page 8 was posted back on April 4th
I was able to write a scene that we needed to help figure out how page 9 was going to go since we weren’t entirely sure what to do for the flashback scene. I gave it to Kylie before she goes/went off the internet grid in June. Long story short, her roommates are moving/have moved, so Kylie has/had to move in with her sister long enough for the sister’s lease to be done with before they can move somewhere else. Her sister’s place does NOT have internet, so Kylie won’t be able to be around for part of the summer (idk how long for, but she said she’d keep me updated when she can)
So this means I don’t know the status of page 9 yet. Good thing though is that she won’t have internet to distract her, so she said (iirc) if artist block doesn’t kill her, she can get a lot of art done that she wants to do and needs to be done (we have a collab commission for a friend in the works) She also said she would try to get files to me that I need for my half of collaborating when she can get free wifi somewhere

Here is page 4! I was too lazy to do my special leaf shading, so I just darkened the characters’ colors a bit to fit the darker scenery
PS: In case you’re confused on the last panel, the two parts that have the white fuzzy stuff around them indicates that it’s a flashback. Sindri is also crying, but its a bit hard to tell against the cream color. If you would like to know what the flashback is about, don't hesitate to ask!

LoboSong started page 8 of Of Plights and Honor earlier tonight in a stream. We discussed what to have drawn for this point: He (Amon) couldn’t shake off this foreboding feeling that always hung around today. It had been years ago when he had received his grim reminder, but the time still haunted him on the anniversary. The anniversary of his near death
This particular page will have a blood warning attached when pages are posted, so there’s a vague hint for ya lol. Then at the end of the page, the remaining cameos will be shown, and then the comic should be relatively easier from then on. I’m not sure how many pages there’ll be before the surprise secret character arrives, but I don’t think it’d be too many. I’M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT PART IN PARTICULAR BC HELL YEAH! *coughs*
So anyway, we’ll see how things go from here and I’ll keep you posted on progress :)

As promised, here are the WIPs for pages 1 and 2 of Of Plights and Honor. Not all of the cameo characters are showing in the first page, but the rest will appear in a, hopefully, one 2-page spread, where it shows every character in page 1′s location (Amon and Sindri are in 2 different locations compared to the rest of the pack)
So enjoy what we’ve got done so far and any tips on ANYTHING, including but not limited to backgrounds, (incomplete) shading, or page sizes, will be greatly appreciated <3
