aveelaxfatima:
“of course, always ” fatima spoke as if the answer, was a clear one– to her? it was. “it’s okay. even when that was the case i was never upset about it. i knew there’d be more things that my input would be needed in. but thank you. for, you, know ALWAYS thinking about me.” the words falling from her lips with ease, and it were true she did appreciate the thought and knowing just how much she was cared about– it was one of those things where ( even if she already knew this ) it just made her heart and her happy. that truly the only way she could describe it. as always! she didn’t dwell on things she couldn’t change, only on what she could. “together we’ll figure those things out. the way it should be. i promise. everything else? it’s just water under the bridge, mon chéri.” there’s a nod of her head, her smile widening as the way was lead. sometimes magic especially in times such as this. it was amazing what all it could do. even if she had been raised around it. her dad having came from a pureblood wizard family.. and her mom being a full veela. after all magic had always been there and used a lot around her growing up. so, whilst she always got to be around it before hogwarts, it still amazed her. not even she could deny that it was great being a witch! it had been what she described at the perfect spot, she did love being outdoors and her arms had started upwards and then opened up; as there’s a graceful spin in that of a circle, with the grace that resembled that of a swan. as a musical laugh fell from dusted pink lips, but then again she in general was happy. being outdoors only furthered boosted her mood. to her it was almost like snow and ice charms, it always made her feel better and being outdoors did the same thing. it was at the question; a hum sounded from her like a melody. or the start of a song. as her mind ponders the thought, and then at arms being wrapped around her– her smile widens further and her features lit up as did chocolate hues. “me too, i’d choose the fog.” as much as she liked the sun, the feeling of the sun radiating on your skin and the warmth. “it’s kind of.. mysterious isn’t? in a sense.“ the former blonde could understand that, and it made sense to her in particular. “i know it took me a minute to answer but it’s tricky! now if you asked me to choose between snow or a warm day.. i’d answer that one so quick.”

“𝓔xactly. You don’t know what’s in it, or who. My father used to say there’s no use being afraid of the fog if you’re the scariest thing within it.”
Christian patted the side of Fatima’s hips playfully then sat back down on the cushioned seats he brought. He search through their things until he found the thermos full of tea.
He watched her for a moment. Fatima’s silhouette was lit up by the moon, and it made her look paler than normal; more mythological. She looked beautiful, the visage that poets wrote sonnets about in their sleep.
“I bet you would choose the snow,” Christian guessed after a beat. “You love the snow.”
Christian poured both of them some tea. He motioned for Fatima to come and join him.
“As I’ve heard it, there’s going to be a night just like tonight coming up in a month or so. Only it’ll be special. Wizards only. Very exclusive,” he teased. “Everyone is going to have their grimoires out and using the same wishing spells their great-great-great somethings used. One of those special times of years.”
Christian sighed.
“I’ll probably be working, so I’m glad we’ll get to see this at least. Just us.”

quvinces:
“no worries.” quincy says with a wide smile, it was pretty busy and he did have an open seat. it would have been rude not to, and truthfully? he didn’t mind at all. the half-veela was sure, that a lot of times his sister and him gave similar responses to things– the pair had been raised as twins and were actually irish twins; could be a lot alike at times too. then entirely different the next. it must have been a sibling thing. “i’ve been pretty good, just glad to be back to quidditch and things to be going back to normal. i reckon things will be better now, they seem to be. so i’d say that’s a good sign.” or at least he hoped so after the cauldron heists, any type of normal was welcomed– and he wasn’t one for dwelling on negative things. when he could be focusing on positives rather. “how about you? hope everything’s been good. if that’s alright to ask.”

“𝓖lad to hear it, mate.”
Christian paused as a waitress came over to their table. He ordered a tea and a sandwich, then went back to twiddling his thumbs. The cafe was a nice place. A little bit of a hole in the wall. Not many people seemed to know about it, but that suited him just fine. He liked his company to be of quality, not quantity.
“Well, I was thinking about how there are so many different healing techniques in other countries and so many places that I would love to travel to. I would love to travel and learn one day, but I don’t know how realistic it is.”
“After seeing all of the damage from the attacks, it also just made me wonder if there’s more that can be done.”

“it feels like it’s been actual ages.” aurora says with that of a wide smile written across the blonde’s features. “absolutely i can agree with that. it’s always really wonderful. well as you can see i am definitely in one piece! and i’m doing good. how have you been? good too i would hope.”
“𝓘’ve been doing okay,” Christian said, beginning to walk forward. He moved at a leisurely pace: like he was taking his time to get where he was going, just like his train of thought.
Diagon Alley was busy, and the visiting members of Wizarding Society bustled around them as they hurried off to various locale.
He took in a deep breath, managing a smile. “You know how it is.”
“I’m actually excited about next month.”
Christian grinned. “Have you heard about the Meteor Shower? It looks like the perfect condition for wishing spells. All of the stars will be alined for maximum magic. Plus, I got notices from Hogwarts in the post. Quidditch season is starting. I might just check it out for old time sake.”

recognition dawned on her like a veil, eyebrows knit together as a deep sigh left her parted lips. ″ this ’s getting ridiculous ! ″ she stomped, frustrated, into the familiar living space. regardless of how happy she was to having had ended up at a familiar place, rather than at a some kind of dark hole with murderers, it was quite embarrassing for her as a grown-ass witch to still struggle with floo powder. most wizards and witches had grown up travelling to their buddies’ houses with it, for merlin’s sake. as much as she wanted to lie, to say that yes, she was there by design, she couldn’t fake plans with fatima to her husband. ″ no, no, ’m sorry. i just had a… mishap. ″ manicured fingers ran through her curls. ″ great seein’ yer anyway, christian. glad you haven’t gotten outta shape working at st. mungos. ″ she remarked quickly and inappropriately. ″ i meant to head elsewhere, but to be quite frank i don’t have a lotta experience with floo powder. ″

“𝓞h. Thank you for noticing.” Christian’s face lowered into his book, his features completed obscured as he made a weird face. That was cool... he guessed.
Christian was in decompression mode after having worked all day at St. Mungos, so comments aside, he found himself retreating back into his book. Lulu was a family friend so he wasn’t going to kick her out. He also wasn’t going to be a host. Not because he was trying to be rude, but because the only social interaction he was up for was snuggling up to his wife.
He lowered the book minimally, his hickory hued eyes making an appearance behind the hard back.
“Where were you trying to get to?” he asked, “because if it’s near here, you might have just said it a little off.”
His eyes crinkled behind his glasses, some of his usual warmth emanating from him. “There’s some floo powder powder on the mantle piece if you need more.”

avalon hadn’t heard christian’s whispered wishes – or at least she acted like she hadn’t heard him clearly, and she thought it may be better to just nod slightly and drop the topic all together. something told her that the two of them talking about family loved and lost would not end well.
the blonde witch maintained silence for a moment, speaking again when hagrid’s hut was in view, her straight-faced silence replaced with her usual pixie-esque tone and expression. “what had brought you t’the castle today anyways christian? just visitin’ ol’ minnie for a book? torturting yourself with memories of school years past? or did ya have some ulterior motives in mind?”

“𝓙ust the book. I want to brush up on my Transfiguration. I’m a bit rusty... more than a bit, actually. It’s a little embarrassing.” Christian chuckled.
He wasn’t sure if he would actually practice turning into an owl again, might be too much of a hoot. It was always nice to refresh your memory though.
His gaze became unfocused, his lips twitching upward.
“I actually liked school,” he admitted. “What about you? Are you going to be content or tortured when you think about Hogwarts after this year?” There was a teasing tone to his voice, but a curiosity behind his hickory hued eyes.
Christian paused at the entrance to the Quidditch pitch.

cassandra laughed once more, only stopping to let a sigh slip from her lips. oh how she missed being a child. excitement seemed to come by so easily. be it from a hogwarts letter or just the experience of boarding the hogwarts express for the first time. “ at least we can laugh about it now. but thank you, i appreciate it. at least i know i can be funny at least some of the time. ” she took another sip of her beverage. “ it really doesn’t. but sometimes i can’t help but think about what if by merlin’s beard things just didn’t work out ? maybe i’m just doing a tad bit too much self-reflection. i’m just glad to have you as a friend. ”

𝓒hristian chuckled. “I think you’re doing a tad bit too much,” he teased, gently pushing Cassandra’s shoulder. “But me too.” In life, there were absolutes. Their friendship had always been one of them. In his mind, it was as simple as that. FIN.
!!
𝓒hristian walked through the Mediwizard entrance in the emergency waiting room area, both enchanted doors swinging open. On the outside, it looked like he had stepped through a window behind the condemned building St. Mungos was hidden inside.
“You didn’t get home in time either?”
Christian stuck his quill into his pocket, tucked his leather bound journal under his arm, and stared up at the moon. Damn. That emergency had taken hours to resolve. He had been a fool to think he would get to watch the shooting stars from the comfort of his own flat.
He played with his glasses then looked over at Daphne.
He had sent his apprentices to take notes on his patients on the fourth floor when he got hit with the emergency. He wasn’t trying to be unfair and keep them working extra hours. He was surprised to see one of them still here, but Daphne had proven herself to be very proficient since day one. The second week of January she would be done with her training, and he would be lying if he said he wasn’t proud of the work he had done with her. ( &. @httpdaphnc )

healer training was exactly how it was cut out to be. it was demanding and daphne was not going to lie and say that she didn’t enjoy every moment of it. of course, working at st. mungos with christian as her mentor has taught her a lot. she was excited for her six months of training to be over. then she would be a fully fledged healer. with that being said, she was situated at a table with delaney at sozzled goblet. she’d only been there a handful of times. she was never opposed to a night out, but she was always exhausted by the end of her shift. what is sleep ?
she took a long sip of her red currant rum. daphne was well and truly inebriated. if it weren’t for the fact that she had a drink in hand, her actions could indicate that she took an elixir to induce euphoria. nonetheless, she was happily chatting away with delaney, giggling here and there. the former ravenclaw turned and spotted her mentor. “ christian ! ” she called out to the older wizard. “ hey ! ” ( * –– @dlaneys )

“ ’m delaney. ” due to having her eyes closed and not actually paying the greatest attention, delaney grunted softly when daphne called out for the former ravenclaw, the name she has uttered completely blurred out from her very tipsy brain. “ who is christian ? ” she shout whispered to her fellow healer trainee, the porcelain of her face screwed up just the slightest because, oh merlin, tipsy-but-on-the-verge-of-getting-drunk-off-her-own-red-currant-rum delaney really couldn’t put a face on a wizard named christian ! it was until she turned her head when her eyes floated upon the visage of christian himself, her hazy nature making her gasp as if she had just seen someone like celestina warbeck. has the witch ever came to the sozzled goblet, before ? “ oh. christian. that christian ! that’s christian ! ” delaney exclaimed with a gasp, waving her hand so he could see the pair. “ i love christian ! christian has a dog. ” @ofprodigals 「 ✨ delaney mentioned a wizarding idiom. 」 「 ✨ delaney brought up a magical canon subject x2. 」 「 ✨ delaney brought up a magical subject. 」 「 ✨ delaney mentioned a canon object. 」 「 ✨ delaney mentioned a canon magical object x2. 」
𝓒hristian! Christian!
Well, shit.
Christian made his way towards the two witches. The closer he got, the more apparent it was that Daphne and Delaney were ironically sozzled.
“I do. I do have a dog,” Christian laughed under his breath.
“Hi girls,” he said as he pulled off his robes, sending it off to be hung up with a wave of his wand. He sat down on the empty seat between them and ordered a simple mead when a barmaid showed.
“Cheers.” Christian clinked his drink against theirs.
“So, are you celebrating the win today as well Daphne?” He wasn’t like some of the Healers who didn’t keep his apprentices close by, learning under them at all times. He actually liked to have them help when possible. If he was buzzing from saving a life when it had looked hopeless, he could imagine the same could be said for her. It was an amazing feeling.

{ @ofprodigals sort of plotted a starter}
Making his first of hopefully more deliveries of some of his plants to the potioneers at St. Mungo’s, Zane found himself recognizing the person that he knew he owed his ability to continue to play football to. Unable to stop himself, he quickly made his way over to the man. “Hello! Sorry to take up some of your time, but I just thought I’d come and say hello. How are you?”
{Zane mentioned a canon object X2}
christian was reading off some notes from a particularly long piece of parchment to one of his colleagues. “you’ll have to go easy on the horklump juice, i’m afraid he’s allergic.” the wizard with eyes a hickory hue ran a hand over his hair out of habit, even though it was stationary. he always put a potion through the strands each morning to make sure it stayed styled back. such was important in the clinical surroundings. all of the healers in the hospital were proficient at potions. in order to even get into the training program at st. mungos, one had to get an exceeds expectations or outstanding in the n.e.w.t level class. however, the workload between cases was often distributed between skilled hands, and when the medicated magic had to be customized to a patient and not simply purchased in bulk like skele-gro ( though they could make that on sight as well, ) they were happy to be handy with a cauldron. “and--” christian did a double take. “oh, not at all, not at all! it’s nice to see you,” he said, calm and sure voiced as he always was in the work place. the tall and broad shouldered wizard smiled as he adjusted his reading glasses. 「 🌟 christian has used a cheering charm boost. 」 “i was just thinking about how much more... well, relaxing this day would be if i were reading about it, rather than experiencing it first hand.” he put his hand to his mouth conspiratorially. “but you didn’t hear it from me. how’re the plants looking these days?” christian immediately wondered if he should’ve just asked how zane was, but the other’s work seemed a relevant question. if he felt socially inept, he didn’t show it.

cassandra accepted the cider from christian and thanked him. a knowing smile graced her features. she took a small sip of the hot spiced apple cider before grabbing a piece of crystallized pineapple from the box. “ i never understood why you would laugh at everything i said, ” she chuckled, recalling the distant memory. “ honestly, i think half the things i said were rather ridiculous. i’m still surprised you believed me a chugged the entire thing in one go. i was definitely yanking your wand. ” she let out a content sigh. things have definitely changed between the two of them. nonetheless, she was happy that she could still call christian a friend. a close friend at that. “ i’m glad everything works out. no amount of divination can precisely predict that. unless you’re a seer of course. do you think about what would happen if we stopped being friends ? ”

“well, you were quite the ventriloquist. ah, yeah. that’s the exact reason the cider ended up going up my nose, isn’t it? well, i snorted it up from laughing when it was in my mouth, but, that only happened once i realized you’d tricked me into thinking you’d beat me in chugging the whole thing first. that moment. that’s when everything all went to cauldron.” christian chortled, the sound felt in the deepest pits of his belly as he recalled the lighter memories of his childhood. luckily, he was smart enough now to wait till his amusement had died down, to take a sip of his beverage. “well, anyways, i’m sure you understand now. though just for the record, any laughing done at present is because you’re actually funny now,” he said with a straight face. soon, his shoulders were shaking, and he was grinning. christian let out a sigh as he paused to seriously consider cassandra’s question. “...no. not really. it doesn’t really seem like a possibility.”

fatima had been able to envision how beautiful, it must have been– as how it sounded. “it sounds beautiful.” even if she had no idea where in the constellation it was, or what it had actually looked like but from the story and being able to picture it. the former blonde could only figure that thought to be true. “i can only imagine what that must have been like. must have been really great for you to want to pass it along. but i love the idea of you doing that. i can see us having a lot of little traditions like that, and i think that’s rather beautiful.” it was one of those moments that made her realize that, that were as special as that. her voice that sounded as light as it always did. took a slightly softer edge to it. “i know, i would never do that or want to. i don’t want to be that person. to stand in the way of anything or make matters worse.” though words were true, she didn’t want to do anything to make anything worse– but regardless of that, she still wouldn’t have wanted that. the half-veela unclips the seatbelt, and there’s a thank you that falls from her lips. one of her hands smooths down the jacket that was tied around her waist, doubtful she’d need it– because she loved cold weather, and could tolerate it. “i love you say that if i want to, but it’d be your decision too. everything will always be decided on together, that i can promise.” it’s a wider smile that spreads across her features, a bell-like laugh falls from her lips. as she mentions the one star she could always spot. and that she knew by name. “about the only star i can always find is big dipper, i think because it’s easier to find.”
christian smiled one of his smiles that was reserved for fatima. had been since he realized she was the witch he’d seen shopping for robes, right before starting hogwarts. a little shy, a little unsure, but overall captivated. “yeah?” he followed after her.. up until he remembered he had stuff in the trunk, and then he jogged backwards with a slight flush on his face. “it’s just, i feel like a lot of that stuff hasn’t been left up to you, you know. so i always want to make sure that you have a say when it comes to those things. all things, but especially those.” christian led the way to the entrance of the forest, wand in one hand, and purchased ministry bag, enchanted with the extension charm, slung over his broad shoulders. first, he performed a spell to make sure there were no muggles present. then he casted a wand lighting charm, and pointed it down at his map. “this way,” he said with a smile just as bright as the tip of his wand. with the help of the map and magic to guide them, it didn’t take long for them to find the perfect spot to watch the meteor shower, or for them to unpack their things for that matter. christian pulled away from his telescope, pausing to breath in the air at the edge of the forest. he closed his eyes to memorize the moment. “if you had to choose, would you rather be in a forest filled with fog or sun? during the daytime?” considering it was nighttime, it didn’t seem all that relevant, but christian was naturally inquisitive. he came up behind fatima, wrapping his arms around her. “i’d choose the fog,” he said, burying his face in her neck. “there’s just something about it.”
