THE FEELING of her hands grasping onto him – holding on for dear LIFE as much as he was: it was another thing that Dean LOVED about Kenzi. They were in sync. Somehow, they always were. No matter how much they disagreed – fought – Dean and Kenzi were always in a SILENT MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING of each other. She wanted him as much as he wanted her, though they had never truly expressed it before that very moment. Dean could tell – the way she PRESSED against him, holding tightly so as not to lose him – it was all mirrored in Dean’s actions. And he DIDN’T want to let go; no, he could stay like this for so much longer – if it were possible.
BUT ALAS, the need to pull away from the kiss made itself present, but the space between them hardly grew at all. With their foreheads pressed against each other’s, eyes tightly shut and hands never letting go of the other, DEAN AND KENZI WERE IN SYNC. The hunter’s mind suddenly rushed with an onslaught of thoughts, emotions —- flashes of fear of commitment, and doubt that he even DESERVED anything like this – like her.
All of those thoughts soon faded as Kenzi began to speak; words rushed out of her mouth in PROPER KENZI FASHION, and he knew that he had permission to stop her before she even said it. Yet, he didn’t. No matter how RAMBLY Kenzi was getting, he didn’t want to stop her – not until he saw that she was running out of things to say. It was more than Dean was about to accomplish; he was never one to have SKILL with words when it came to the subject of LOVE, especially not when it directly had to do with himself, but this was Kenzi. Things ALWAYS came naturally between them, and this time didn’t have to be different. Hues of green slowly opened to look down into icy blue, and not once did Dean increase the distance between them at ALL.
❝ – I love y’too, Kenzi Malikov. Have for a helluva long time. Damn, you of all people probably know I ain’t good at this whole relationship thing; don’t got th’best track record with commitment in things like this. But you’re different. Y’KNOW that, right? Hell, I ain’t leavin’ you, and I ain’t losin’ you. And I know we can make this whole friggin’ thing work. ‘S what we do. ‘Cause I don’t want anyone else, Kenz. ‘S been you for a long time. And damn – y’can seriously stop ME at any time. ❞
Kenzi didn’t think just simple WORDS could cause the eruption of butterflies in her stomach, and damn, she hated feeling like a giggly school girl. But, she couldn’t find a single part of her to CARE about it. Here was the man she had been IN LOVE WITH for most of her life, telling her that his feelings didn’t stray that far from hers, that he LOVED HER TOO. That was enough for her entire world to be on cloud nine. It was intoxicating.
Just DEAN was intoxicating. His smell, the feeling of his skin against hers enough to make blood rush to the spot, HIS LIPS. God, his lips were everything that she had imagined and more. Though, her thoughts couldn’t go that far into detail without getting a little - ahem - RATED R. It was like she could breathe him in all day and never get tired of his scent. It was always fresh in her mind.
She couldn’t help the giggle that bubbled up in her throat. ❝ You can keep going. It’s really good for a girl’s ego. ❞ JOKING aside, icy blue glittered as she looked up at the man who was changing her life. ❝ God, why didn’t we do this sooner? YEARS we could’ve spent actually being happy for a change. We’re such knucklehead mcspazatrons. ❞ It’s never a bad time to quote Spongebob.
