everything in sageβs life had gone up in flames the minute she had graduated from hogwarts but at the same time, she had never felt freer. she could finally be herself without the constant watchful eye and disapproval of her parents and her older brother. it was liberating. she could do what she wanted without asking for permission. taking a sip of her beer, dark hues remained focus on her glass as she acknowledged the person next to her with a slight grin.Β β come here often ?Β β
samuel slid onto the bench at the leaky cauldron, placing his hands up onto the bar top for a moment before he leaned back against the back of the stool. he turned his head to look at the person beside him, a light smirk making its way to his lips. it quirked his mouth upward, a slight dimple appearing. he pointed at the other, raising his eyebrows expectantly.Β βdrink?β he asked, because he definitely needed one.Β βitβs on me,β he offered.Β
the entire reason sage had come here tonight was because she needed a drink. she had hoped by sitting at the bar alone would give off the impression that she didnβt want company but it seemed to have done the opposite affect for this individual. the dark haired witch raised an eyebrow before turning to the bartender,Β β whatβs your most expensive drink ? iβll have that, thanks,Β β before turning back to the other with a slight smirk on her face.Β
see, the bad thing about being recognizable was regulus couldnβt just sit on the front step on a building that he didnβt really know the purpose of (but definitely knew it was closed) in peace. blinking up at the person whoβd apparently decided to stand directlyΒ in front of them and interrupt their people watching, they let out a long-suffering sigh.Β βdo you need something? itβll certainlyΒ pain me but i can move, if youβd like.β
sage sighed as dark hues fell upon the male that was currently standing on the front step of ollivanders. every since she was disowned by her family, the dark haired witch had tried to make it a habit of avoiding anyone from that world.Β β i actually need to go in and start doing some work so if you could move, i would appreciate it,Β βΒ
βhey, hi,β she said, breathless, as she handed them the cloak she had over her arm.Β βcould you hold this for likeβ¦β finishing that sentence meant she had an idea of how long it would take to shake the hangover out of her bones (there hadnβt been time to find a potion), so she kept quiet. calla briefly flashed a finger at them, the one pleading for patience, before flipping her head over. immediately she began shaking her hair with rabid fingers, tousling the look to hopefully decrease the lumps from passing out on wet hair. finally, she righted herself, a grateful smile on her face as she retrieved her item.Β βwoke up late, and if you didnβt already know, goblins donβt exactly like the effortless look.β in truth? she could have used a vanity charm, but she had been angry with the bank for shacking her up in a hovel, so minimal effort reciprocation was the way.Β
sage blinked in confusion as she was given a random cloak but the strange woman next to her, β sure ? β she wasnβt sure or why the other individual had chosen her as a makeshift coat rack but here they were. β no luck at gringotts then ? β the witch was trying to piece together the different pieces of information she was receiving. β or are you about to have no luck ? β
β there are only three options for black sheep: live authentically and get kicked out of the community, have the courage to move out on your own and rebuild from scratch, or hide your true self and desperately try to fit in ( which you never will) . β
( cisfemale | she/her | madison bailey ) ββ isnβt that sage parkinson? yeah that is them, outside the leaky cauldron! they used to be in slytherin but apparently they now work as an apprentice wandmaker at the place. they always seemed to remind me of becoming the family disappointment by not supporting their ideals, unruly curly hair that falls behind her back, paint stained fingers & throwing caution to the air, which seems about right. anyway iβve heard theyβre still a bit well-meaning, closed off, and rebellious. theyβre eighteen now but some things never change! i wonder how being a pureblood is affecting them after school, especially now theyβre neutral? when was it they graduated again, 1978? has it really been that longβ¦ ββ [ lo : aedt : 25 : she/her ]
sage was born as the youngest child to the parkinson family.Β
for the minute she could talk, everyone could see how different she was compared to the rest of the family. her parents saw this as a failure of their parenting skills so they spent nearly every day trying to enforce their beliefs into sage.Β
sage preferred to spend her days out in the back garden, tending to the flowers or playing make believe alone. she never shunned the muggles much to her parentsβ chargin.Β
despite all this, sage learned to slip on the facade of being the perfect parkinson; supporting pureblood values with her family. however, when she was alone, she couldnβt help but feel wrong about the things her family believed or supported.
one would think that going to hogwarts would have given her room to breathe and be herself but it was the opposite. she was sorted into slytherin and surrounded by even more people who believed in blood purity. due to this, sage found herself more recluded from the rest of her year but if she was asked on the subject, she would pretend that she was just like them.Β
the moment her brother graduated, it was like a sense of relief had fallen over her. she was finally able to start to have secret friends in other houses and no longer felt like her every move was watched by her brother.Β
the moment she graduated hogwarts, sage secured herself an apartment within london and renounced the parkinsonβs ways of life. this action would make her the black sheep of the family; with them all cutting ties with her immediately.Β
she is currently working as an apprentice wandmaker at ollivander.
she has no interest in being a part of this war after being forced onto one side for so long.
