That was something Sharna could definitely see happening. Though at least with parents like Marcus and Justine, their daughter’s boldness wouldn’t turn into arrogance as an adult. She’d unfortunately witnessed that happening a couple o times. 

The vampiress gave a nod. “Sounds like a good plan. You know your way around here better than I do. I’ll need all the help I can get.” That was true, she might’ve been fast but that was no good if she ran herself into a dead end. 

Laughing along with Claudia, Sharna allowed herself to be tugged along. If they needed to run, she could easily pick the girl up and take off.

Marcus didn’t actually give them a five second head start. It was longer than that. He hadn’t started to count until he heard the four of them running off so in reality, they got a good ten or so seconds before he began to search.

Claudia tugged Sharna into the bullpen. The place was packed as usual with Watchers working at their desks, getting reports and the like done. Some of them noticed Claudia and her shushing them to not draw attention the the pair and they chuckled.

“Daddy won’t find if we stay in the corner and if he comes in and is about to catch us, we can go around the desk really sneaky and get out.” Apparently stealth tactics was an inherited trait in the family rather than a learned one.

Claudia’s boldness reminded Sharna of her eldest daughter. Jasmine was always very sure of what she wanted to do and wasn’t shy about laying down the law. “I’m willing to bet she’s going to be assertive in the future.” 

Fortunately she had been a vampire long enough now to learn to temper her abilities, meaning she could better keep herself at a human running pace. Of course, she planned on letting herself be caught rather easily. It was the fair thing to do with children, regardless of species. 

“Let’s go kids,” Sharna gestured with her head, already heading for the door. “time’s a-ticking.” 

“I keep telling Marcus we already have the next Director on our hands,” Justine said. Of course, that was if Claudia even wanted to be the Director. Even if she decided against it, she’d make one hell of a Watcher.

Claudia made her way over to Sharna before they started, looking up at the tall woman with a smile. “We can team up, it’ll make it easier to run from Daddy. Mommy is gonna help Michael too.”

“Okay, I’m going to start counting. Might want to get moving as soon as possible,” Marcus said. He turned from them and began to count off towards five. Claudia giggled, gently tugged at Sharna’s hand and took off into the main area of the Division Building.

Her own twins alongside Mattie were cases she was sure of, they wouldn’t be going to school. Mattie couldn’t stand being away from her too long and as she’d mentioned to Marcus before… there were some problems with the twins that meant she couldn’t risk them around regular human children. 

Shar tried to disguise a laugh as a cough, her shoulders shaking. Never a dull moment with kids, they could be quite the stern little things when it came to their games. Claudia certainly knew what she wanted.

“Sounds like a plan to me,” looking over at Marcus and Justine, Sharna tilted her head. “you up for it?”

Just have to remember I’m playing with humans. 

“I don’t see why not,” Marcus said, smiling at Claudia when she looked up at him. His daughter grinned and immediately made her way out to the reception area to ask Perry to watch her younger siblings. Marcus and Justine only watched in amusement as she did so.

“Of course, Miss Claudia,” Perry said, laying his accent on thick to emulate an English butler. Claudia giggled at it.

“Alright, sweet cakes, do you want to start?” Justine asked. Claudia thought for a moment and shook her head. “I want Daddy to start.”

“I can do that. I’ll give you all a five second head start, so...better get running.”

“A pleasure to meet you as well, Ms. Lennox,” Marcus said, returning her nod. “As for the charm, I feel that and being nice tends to get you on people’s good sides as well as much needed information rather than starting off rude or anything of the sort.”

Headcanon (09) || Cars

Marcus owns two cars. A black Lincoln Town Car and a Rolls Royce Corniche II. He inherited the Rolls Royce from his grandfather. It’s an original from the eighties and its kept up on maintenance to keep it in excellent condition. While the Royce is more for joyriding and such nowadays, the town car is Marcus’ main mode of transportation.

“Wary might’ve been a bit of an understatement on my part there, but there probably isn’t a word for how he is with organisations like yours.” Three Eye didn’t like to feel watched or monitored, something she could understand. He didn’t ‘exist’ after all, or so he liked people to believe. 

She’d see how it went, Shar didn’t want to deprive her children from interaction with the ‘normal’ world, but she also didn’t want to endanger them via potential exposure of their species.

Ah, the look all children shared; one that made even the most stern of parents break if exposed to it for long enough. She’d never been particularly good at fighting it. 

“I don’t mind at all,” a grin spread across the vampiress’ face. “just know that if it’s anything to do with video games, I kick butt at Mario Kart.” 

It wasn’t anything that Marcus hadn’t heard before. There were plenty of those belonging to the supernatural world that would like to avoid the Watchers. He wouldn’t push the issue. It wasn’t his place to do so anyway, it was between her and her husband

Claudia tilted her head to the side, a look of mild confusion on her face. She had no idea what Mario Kart was but it sounded fun. As for video games, she knew what they were but she hadn’t been introduced to them yet. She had to wait until she was five.

“Um...can we play tag? Mommy and Daddy and Michael can join us and Perry can watch Elizabeth and Robert.” She was grinning widely now, shifting excitedly in place.

Marcus and Justine let out an identical breathy laugh at how their daughter was dictating who would do what. She was really gonna be quite something as she got older.
