So, I’m sorry to say this but the Justin love has come to an end for me. While I was late to the “fangirl” stage for him, I have admired him for a long time. I’m twenty minutes from Canada, have been there many times, and when he took office, I thought it was a wonderful thing and paid attention. I thought he was great- spoke up for people, shared the same values, etc. But now, those values seem to have disappeared. Not gonna make this overly long but…
I used fangirling as an escape from the dumpster fire that is the world. But I’m not going to stan for a man who has a voice, reach and a history of speaking and ignores it all in favor of speeches not on solidarity, but financial gain and wealth (and he was never the “finance” PM). Jet-setting around the world to deliver those types of speeches while the world burns is tone deaf. As is funding an extravagant lifestyle for his jobless 18 year old, sending him off on lavish vacations (and taking many himself). One of the things that drove me to him was his parenting values and now, he’s in America so much, or off doing speeches that you can’t tell me he’s spending quality time with his youngest. He’s become disappointing.
And yes, part of this has to do with Katy. Not strictly because they’re together, I mean, he deserves to be with someone, but that someone he picked is problematic and I can’t ignore that anymore. Instead of speaking up, she chooses to use her platform to hawk sneakers that cost 1000 and brag about the fancy trips they go on. And that’s the least of her transgressions. I can’t overlook that he’s spending time with her kid and not his own (or the fact that he spends so much time here in the US after telling Canadians not to do that).
He’s changed and gone down a path I’m not willing to follow. When I post about him, here and in other places, I get a lot of hate and hassle and I’m just not willing to deal with it for a man I no longer believe in. He has done some problematic things in his past and I used to defend him regarding those. But it’s just not in me anymore. I’m sorry, y’all obviously don’t have to feel this way. But this is just how I feel. So, the blog is no more.
Edit: As I said, I don’t expect any of you all to feel this way. It’s an explanation as to why I’m not blogging about him anymore. There is a lot more to the story that I’ve chosen not to go into and don’t plan to. You think this is a dig, fine. Maybe he deserves one. But I’m not going to argue with anyone about why I feel the way I do. I’ve done that for a long time now, to the point where I’ve gotten death threats and had people make multiple accounts to harass me. I’ve given him a chance, given her a chance (and trust, my dislike of her started looong before they met. But I tried to see good in her.) This is based on things I know. It is what it is, it was fun while it lasted (except for the hate, of course) but it’s over. I’ve left it up so people can grab pics if they want.
Edit, the second. I believe the accuser. I believe the videos of her exhibiting alarming behavior with others, including minors. There’s a slight chance he didn’t know, but y’all, it’s slight. If he stays, that says a lot about him and none of it is good.
