thinking about redoing Hanzo a little bit
truexman:
Aw. love you too bestie.
Ugh.
truexman:
Third rate All Might impersonation. -10 / 10.
Fuck All Might. And fuck you too.
He is here.
A small, yet heavy sigh. He’s tired of Hanzo’s shit.
truexman:
“Biased or not, it still knows when someones lying.”
“I don’t know what I said that could be a lie. I gave my honest opinion on the topic.”
truexman:
“The lie detector determined that that was a lie.”
Here comes the ‘ugh’ look. “Yes, yes, and the lie detector tends to be biased in favor of my ward.”
“Why are you booing me? I’m right.”
@ohquirks sent: Hanzo, what is your opinion on Yaoyorozu Momo?
“Yaoyorozu...” It took him a moment to put a name to a face, but then he remembered who she was. Ah, Nikko’s little crush. They talked about her often, and he even met her once before the entire dormitory thing.
“A nice girl, but it makes me wonder how someone like her could think of being a hero. She’s very smart, from what I heard, her parents own a support item company. As someone who’s done that personally for a hero, I’m rather intrigued,” He mused. He then shrugged.
“As much as I’d like for Nikko to date someone like her, it’s not a big chance for that to happen. Even I know that. She’s very likeable, but it’s not like I’ll meet her often. Not to seem pessimistic, of course. I like a lot of things about her, but I don’t like how she encourages Nikko’s heroism.”
I think what’s interesting when it comes to Hanzo is that I have 4 opportunities for him / his story to ‘end’, 2 good and 2 bad.
Good: - He sacrifices himself to save Nikko, not wanting to die a monster when he sees what he’s truly become as a human being. Him just looking back and see all the pain and suffering he caused someone he was supposed to care for, all because of his selfish views that he decides that while yes, Nikko is a hero and is willing to make the sacrifice play, they’re a child and Hanzo is the one that needs to own up and redeem himself in one way.
- Or, he ends up in jail after he’s captured, because Nikko saved his life despite all the wrong things he’s done, and he realizes that his kid, despite going into a society that is indeed flaws, is the future of it along with their classmates, and the future doesn't seem as bleak, and he’s willingly going to Tartarus
Bad: - He ends up dying by his own quirk because he intended to actually murder Nikko. Hanzo’s smart and would always try to get the upper hand, but his wrath is so powerful and he’s so fucked up and angry that he tries to have a mechanical arm strike Nikko from behind, only for them to dodge and it’s too fast for him to stop, so he ends up impaling himself. Of course, it as Nikko look at him with shock and horror, as his final breath is him saying “Don’t tell anyone.”
- He ends up captured, but with Nikko not there, or not the one to stop him, he feels even worse contempt for heroes, and even when Nikko tries to talk to him in Tartarus because he won’t talk to anyone, he denounces them as his family despite how much they wanted to help.
knifelizard:
being gone for long periods of time is horrible for a lot of reasons, though in some ways, shuichi doesn’t mind being away from the hideout. it means less time he has to spend with dabi — and, god forbid, hawks — but he hates being away from takai. especially when he has no means of communication. they decided it was better to not take phones with them when they left, for fear of being traced. it had been almost two weeks — but he’s back, and grateful to see takai there upon his return.
he nuzzles his face into the much taller man’s chest, gripping onto him tightly with claws and sticky-padded fingers.
“takai,” he breathes softly, laughing a little at the ferocity with which the other embraces him. he relaxes in his arms. “i missed’ya too, love.”
He felt his heart melt feeling the familiar grip of the pads working to stay close. It was the littlest things for Takai, the glances, the smiles, the laughs, the way Shuichi seemed to just light up his rather dark world. When he light was gone, even if temporarily, he never knew what to do with himself.
Shuichi made him feel more of an individual, and less of a pawn. He always had, and he always would.
He rubbed his mask’s cheek against the top of the fellow villain’s head as a way of affection; it was seemed to be akin to a kiss, considering he couldn’t exactly kiss him with his mask on. It always got the message through. “Tired? We can go rest... Need food? Drink?”
@knifelizard
The moment he heard that Shuichi was back, Takai immediately left his room to see if it was true. It had been a while, a much longer time than usual, and with no contact nonetheless.
Shuichi may have been on his way to their shared room, but the nomu was quick to meet him halfway. His slow-beating heart jumped in his chest and with a few paces, he enveloped Shuichi in his arms, even bending down to place his face on the top of his head and let a purr rumble in his chest.
“Hi... missed you.” He muttered softly.
He’s awake.
truexman:
“I’ll have to decline that offer.” Naomasa was trying to be polite for Nikko’s sake. He didn’t want to argue with the man, already knowing a fraction of his disdain for the hero community. And of course, he couldn’t blame him, having seen Nikko’s condition and knowing what the hero course students were going through but there had to be a line drawn.
“Nikko is nearly an adult and they can make decisions for themselves. If they’ve decided to go back to the school despite what’s happened, then I don’t think you or I should be the ones to go against their wishes and pull them out when they don’t want to go somewhere else. They want to help people and if this is the route they chose to do it, I support their decision.”
He couldn’t help but stare for a minute, contemplating his answer to that. His hand took a part of the folder and he was tempted to close it and just tell him no and to leave. Then again, what would really be gained from that? Nikko would still be living poorly, Hanzo still struggling, so that wouldn’t do.
“They’re still a child, and they will make childish decisions, no matter how smart they are,” He commented offhandedly. He tapped the pen on the paper for a moment before looking and actually signing it. “If you really think you can trust their choice to chase that dream, fine. I’ll hold you to that.”
He closed the folder and held it out. “You make it hard to give it to you. If it weren’t for the fact that they’d be living much better than this, I wouldn’t let you have custody. I don’t have to tell you this, I’m sure, but I will anyway: just keep them safe.”
I REALLY DID JUST MAKE ONE UNREDEEMABLE MOTHERFUCKER HUH
husk-d:
“Never been much of a ‘home’ kinda guy.” He admits with a laugh, “Livin’ here in this little compound is the closest i’ve been to livin’ somewhere since before the kid was born.” He nods, “Yeah, that’s her. Her name’s got the character fer flea in it, and it suits her.”
He raises a brow. “Interestin’ stance to take. Not that I’m against it, the less hero brats running around, the better.”
“Mm. I’d hardly call that horrid apartment a home either.” Too much bad memories, too little time there after he was taking care of Nikko. “Ah, really? Not a surprise. ...A lot of the kids seem overbearing or annoying to some degree, so for one to have ‘flea’ is bound to happen.”
He shrugged. “Interesting? How so? I really just want to see this hero society fall and let people see what it is. I want to show Nikko what path they’re going down. If I have to do dirty work, so be it. If they try to stop me, then so be that, too. I’ll kill them if I have to. I’m sure others have different reasons for joining this league, but that’s my idea, and I’m proud to stick by it. ...Is there a reason why you’re here?”
truexman:
“Well, since it’s important, I enjoy Nikko’s company. They’ve been interning with my precinct, and under my watch personally on and off for some time and I’ve had the chance to get to know them. I like caring for them and about them.” He explained.
“I won’t be taking them from you of course. They’re relationship with you remains the same. I’m prepared to cover costs for their schooling and prosthetics and anything else they may need, and they’ll have a room at my place if, for whatever reason you’re not home when they’re not at the dorms.”
The words made Hanzo only a little less hesitant to give custody. He heard only a little about his quirk, how he could trust Naomasa since he couldn’t lie. Nothing much else was said.
“I see. Thank you. That would help immensely.” He found the page that he was supposed to sign and got a pen, but he stopped for a moment. He twirled the pen in his hand for a moment before looking back at him again. “...However. About the schooling, Tsukauchi. I’m rather strict on them being in that school in the first place. I’ve nearly taken them out a few times just from what’s happened. Can I trust you on something? Will you take them out if I deem it too dangerous? You’ve seen how this year has treated them. Surely it would be better for them to go somewhere else. There has to be a limit.”
