Brief Backstory:
Meryl grew up in Oxford, UK as an only child to muggles, Darren and Rose Grant, living a modest lifestyle as an upper-middle class family. As a naturally shy girl, Meryl had a difficult time making friends while in school. Coupled with protective parents who aimed to shelter their daughter from all things harmful and dangerous in life, Meryl became an unexperienced teen with a severe sense of naiveness.
However, she did grow out of her introverted shell during her third year at Hogwarts. For some unexplainable reason, Meryl found it easier to make friends, although it was mostly attributed to her kind and empathetic personality.
While at school, Meryl pursued ballet dancing. She was never really a girl focused on magic and much preferred the arts over spells. After graduating from Hogwarts, she signed with The Royal Ballet to become a principal dancer.
