Trevor is a coyote, Michael and Amanda are cats

Back in the days Michael chose Amanda to be his mate over Trevor, he thought that was the right thing, Amanda was same species as him, but he made a mistake, they were happy only for a while, then realized it's not working out, but they already had kids, so stayed together (then north Yankton happens and Mikey leaves Trevor depressed cuz T always loved him and wanted to be mates, but never told Michael about it)

After a decade they meet up again, just like we all know, and all the 'hiding feelings and truth' stuff happens again, but not only Trevor wants Michael to be his mate still, Michael starts to feel something too but hides it
