Folklore could not have come out at a more perfect time. My mom was in ICU in a coma starting after a complication in a procedure on July 8. @taylorswift surprise dropped Folklore about two and a half weeks later and its been such a support for me.

I have been able to escape into the stories of these characters, but also find myself and my mom in these songs. Epiphany struck me from first listen as relatable to my situation with my mom especially. I’ve been able to escape into Exile, feel the sadness of Hoax, and find strength in TLGAD and Mad Woman, and relate to Mirrorball as I try to reflect and be strong for my family.

My mom passed away on Monday July 27. It has been a nightmare of a month for my family. I am so thankful to have Folklore to help get me through, and at least to keep me company in all of my feelings.

Unfortunately, my mom did not have anything set to ensure her final expenses were covered, so we have started a GoFundMe for her. I hate having to ask for help, but my family would truly appreciate any donations, and shares of the fundraiser so we can ensure my mom’s final services can be what she deserves. Thank you in advance for any help 💙
