Open (Enchanted Forest)
Sandulf had seen the stranger approaching the farm from quite a ways away, making it easier for him to duck behind a fence to his right before the visitor could see him. He sat there silently, a bright smile threatening to spread wide across his face, waiting for the footsteps of the person approaching.
When the person had passed his hiding place, the boy moved so he was standing right behind them. “Were you looking for my father?” he asked quietly, leaning over to speak directly to the person. “He’s not here.”
Jane latest hunt through the near by village had been a better success than she hoped for. Managing to steal three loaves of bread, a wheel of cheese, and a pie an old woman hand sitting on a windowsill. Though the day was ending, and she had to reach the cabin in the woods before it got dark. She hadn't brought her violin with her, it would only slow her down and that would just mean one extra thing to carry. So, Jane as a last resort had to cut through a farm to reach the outlining forest where she and three other orphans lived.
Though she hadn't expect any interruptions. She supposed that this was what she got for thinking that she was having a good day -- something always came up. She stopped dead in her tracks, expecting to hear a gruff voice of an angry farmer, wanting justice over a trespasser. Instead the voice sounded much younger.
Jane made a face and turned around, cocking an eyebrow, "Why in the world would I want to see your father? I don't even know'em."
