I’m here to spread my nerdy David agenda cause I can.

(Please note that I have not seen the musical and I am mainly basing this off of the movie)

So we all agree that, especially movie version, David read classics. It is a headcanon that I think most can agree on. BUT i raise you: David with nerdy interests.

I feel like he would start by looking into D&D, thinking that’s it surface level cool because of the dragons and stuff, but as he learns more about it, the deeper storytelling and monsters pull him in. I imagine he’d write very detailed horror themed campaigns that he would just never share. He’d poke fun at the game in front of people but be intently reading the manuals behind closed doors. And it just spirals from there to Magic the Gathering and Warhammer and such.

The other side to this is if he were to go public, he would be THE WORST gatekeeper in existence. Like he’s the guy at the mtg tournament who’s playing the MEANEST commander deck you’ve ever seen and keeps board wiping. He’d be the kind of guy to criticize and tell you everything wrong with your meta. HOWEVER! I don’t think he would stink… that bad.

I see him being very self conscious about his interests, especially with the persona he puts on in front of others. He’s usually putting on a vague and mysterious front, like how he would talk to Michael in the movie. In reality he’d probably be a very edge lord esque player, kind of succeeding because of vampire powers, but let’s be fr, if it was modern day it’d come off as corny to most.

Tbh this is just really my idea that anywhere outside of Santa Carla, all of the boys would be losers in some way shape or form. Like, they’re cool by the boardwalks alt scene’s standards, but if they were to go into any other environment they’d be considered weird. Idk why but this headcanon speaks to me.
